Derek he's probably disallowing amber from network access. It's fairly common bc no one has time to audit the code to confirm it's not phoning home with your network access so just by dis-allowing it network access you can use it in like 75% of apps and you have basically perfect security on your nsec besides having your device compromised.
I don't think it's that uncommon considering the user base for amber is people looking for security AND figured out how to use obtanium before it was on zapstore. I'd bet 50% of the userbase or more do this.
