nspam - a lightweight model to fight spam
I trained a model from scratch to classify spam on nostr, early indication shows it catches 97% of spam with just a 1mb weight file and can do inference sub 100ms on a pixel 7 with kotlin. (Should work in any language)
Will be shipping in #wisp this week, feel free to try it yourself if you're building a client. I recommend only using it when rendering replies from non followed pubkeys

User "edits" their note, then goes to any other client and sees their edits don't show, why is wisp broken? Why did you say it's edited when it's not?
Or I made an edit on Amethyst, but the relay I was assigned doesn't accept that kind, now I see my edits sometimes yes and sometimes no depending on inbox relay I'm connected to.
If I ever did something that resembled edit, it would be delete then issue a new note in one sequence, but even this isn't ideal because relays don't always honor deletes.

It flashes when it works, then fails other times when replacements aren't found on relay, some users see the edits and others don't. Some clients see other don't. You can add questionnaires all day, you cannot modify a signed note, it goes against physics. And adds even more jank and brokenness to nostr, we have enough of that already

I am not opposed to people trying such a scheme, but don't think this is a good way for user discovery. There's more work clients can do to guide users into getting follows and engagement.
I think of we take Instagram and Twitter as examples you can't just post to a timeline there and get engagement either, usually you join up with your friends or you build up your followers from external sources or being a reply guy to start.
To me a very good solution to this is clients to be nip29 forward, stop sharing to global k1 feeds for new users and start publishing to relevant groups

4x 3090s
2x - qwen3.5-35b q4 256k - 60-80 t/s
2x - gemma4-27b q4 256k - 50-70 t/s
Running on vLLM via docker
Working mint openclaw, Gemma struggling a bit in open webui (reasoning and tool calling still struggle a bit with Gemma)
Quality and speed are actually amazing, very surprising... Just coding is not very good (compared to opus)
