No what is actually wrong is theres something wrong with your follow list or the relay/s that its on. I am to where I couldn't follow anyone or unfollow or mute or unmute. So what I did was I put local follow list into my client so it works 100% of the time & I can curate my feed to perfection. If you wanna test my client ill send you the link

Our politicians using it doesnt disprove it being a honeypot, if only the US has a backdoor into it then they would be completely fine using it. Another big thing I failed to mention is that by default they use google or apples push notifications which are insanely non private & actually was the reason a guy went to jail while using Signal

2026-09-23 16:09:59 UTC

- reply

Still with them only using 2 relays it isn't really different than Signal other than maybe being a better company

- reply

except all the evidence I gave that youre ignoring

2026-09-23 03:35:20 UTC

- reply

OK so let me ask you do you use your real number with Signal or do you use a burner number? I want to know how you can get a burner number that does verification for free? I would guarantee 98% of people use their real phone numbers which is KYC because if they know your number they know you. Its insane to think of using something that would show your real number to everyone on there so thats a bug patch not a feature they get zero credit for that. They know what google account was used to pay for it & google knows what bank or credit card was hooked up to the google account so that is easily traced back to you. On the honeypot thing the Government doesnt fund freedom tech there is zero way they ever would. that combined with their bullshit KYC & it being completely centralized brings you to the conclusion that it is a honeypot

2026-09-23 03:26:33 UTC

- reply

Yeah & it functions good enough if you're talking pure usability. what needs to happen though is they need to make it work on more relays than just their own. also the cap on the amount of people in a group should be higher ideally. All these things take time so all we can do is wait

2026-09-23 00:51:38 UTC

- reply

Yeah, its not good enough yet tho

2026-09-22 23:05:23 UTC

- reply

Youre being way too generous IMO. requiring a phone number is KYC it is literally hooked up to your bank & any other official business so it is clearly linked to you. how do you spoof a verification message? all of the free services out there dont let you get verification messages. as for their moving towards doing without a phone number that is through google which means it will be linked to both Google & your bank account so still KYC. it might be slightly better than fb messenger or WhatsApp but that's an extremely low bar & doesnt mean its not a honeypot

2026-09-22 22:04:20 UTC

- reply

Nah I disagree, being given 20 million by the US government, being completely centralized, having kyc as a policy & also having a guy that cofounded WhatsApp & stayed there even after it was bought by Facebook then cofounded the Signal foundation doesnt give me any reason to trust them

I feel like gun happy people just want an excuse to shoot people. Maybe at one time it was one of the main ways of protecting your family but there are so many non lethal protection methods these days. Let me list some:
1 Fences
2 Gates
3 Guard Dogs (Mean ones)
4 Cameras
5 Burglar Alarms
6 Stun Guns
7 Tasers
8 Tear Gas
9 Tranc Guns
That's just off the top of my head I'm sure there's many more
