I think there's value in intentionally using this ability for scientific purposes, but it also helps socially. I frequently use it with my wife to understand her needs. I'm probably autistic as fuck and couldn't maintain relationships without doing this. It's exhausting but good for me overall.
I can't see how we can avoid banal evil without doing this either. The whole repeating history thing. We need thinkers and I doubt most people ever will be. Being a philosopher or deep thinker seems to be an eternally lonely existence.

Have to hard disagree. UX is much more important than many people realize when it comes to building a functional app that keeps pace with its users. The desktop and mobile apps sync poorly, and are slow to show updates when payments are made. Buttons often don’t work, the app freezes, and there isn’t even a dedicated Apple Silicon build. I’m looking at it right now, and it’s a broken piece of software.
Lol interesting perspective! I think it's moreso the opposite tendency due to my theory of morality, but there are definitely some very good people I know who have leaned hard into antinatalism in the past. So somebody has to talk to them! So thank you for your service!
