Its the basis of the system we were born into.. have only known and therefore play by the rules entire life thinking if I work harder I get more, but really add more skittles to the cup.. and on my energy and years of life while being rewarded with fake paper they keep printing and protected by this matrix

最近我们公司这一个刚毕业一年左右的年轻人，想不开自杀了，这么好的年纪，这么好的学历和学校，这么好的工作。。。
虽然我们压力有点大，但是刚毕业年轻人一般都是老员工在前面顶着压力传递不会太多给他们。。。
遗书说的是有抑郁症历史，个人原因想不开。父母说是公司原因。。。
要不是有遗书估计公司要承担很大责任。。。
我估计都是父母逼出来的抑郁症，他都不愿意跟家人沟通，毕业了家人还要一起跟过来住，可能是担心抑郁症复发，也可能是想控制孩子，总之，结局就是这样。。。
每天笑呵呵的年轻人，就这么没了。。。
我中午跟客户吃饭还在自我调侃，他建议我过两年跳槽到友商养老，我说我这个年纪该噶了，没人要了。结果下午就听到这个噩耗。。。

Meeting the people who might (and a lot of them never) heard of nostr and are full into subjects around digital sovereignty, EU-first projects, the EU cloud, governance, regulations, digital commons, ActivityPub, ATProto etc
It's good to know that I'll be not the only nostrich there tomorrow.
My primairly goal is just to observe and listen to their concerns and problems which they are trying to address in a more broader perspective. Where possible, I'll try to envision bridges. I don't expect there will be much talking about solutions (and trade-offs).

We've been saying Nostr needs better onboarding and discovery for years. Agreed. But let's talk specifics.
Apps need three things to work as social platforms:
Sign-in. Search. Tag.
If you can't nail these three fundamentals, nothing else matters. Users bounce before they ever see what makes Nostr special. It's standard for mainstream adoption.
Once those are locked down, the next battle is battery and bandwidth. Using Nostr shouldn't drain my phone dead or eat through my data plan. This is not a nice to have feature. It's time.

I should say software business. Commerce seems to be possible but I don’t see anyone using nostr solutions either - basically all on Shopify

I am not building a business on nostr because I don’t trust any random free relay to host my data (publicly I might add) and I don’t want to run my own relay. Also there’s no easy password recovery.
Centralized solutions work and specialize in infrastructure, backups and privacy.
Until nostr solves for this it’s not a viable alternative for building a business on top of this protocol.

Both kids home. Mother-in-law came to help, so I can work from home and don't have to stress about the kids. And for sure, I'm not stressed. At least not about the kids. But she means well.
