i'm getting them because i intend to have a little "solar flare kit" that entails some large lithium battery, decent solar panel, crappy but robust laptop, dvd reader and start collecting an archive of important data and all of it to put it inside a sufficiently large ammo crate or so as an emergency tech stash for the case of broad scale electrical systems burnout from a really big solar flare... this is also why i've started collecting books... such a kit might last 20 years if i get lucky with my pick of hardware if used infrequently, which might be enough to recover from a decade of hard core CMEs destroying the electrical grid and all electronics
probably need a second disc reader and some spare NVMe drives to go with the kit, but i'll just build it up piece at a time
for this occasion the purpose is just a failure proof backup for critical data, more than enough to keep all my music collection of FLACs and all my essential data files (recovery codes, etc etc)
most people probably think i'm loony for wanting to do things like this but they called Noah a nutter too, and plenty of smart guys out there have been studying data and sensors and archaeology and whatnot and are all starting to converge on the idea that my second jubilee era may be a bit rough and steampunk

i was locked up for selling drugs on the dark web... due to funny information they decided to send special police to arrest me and if it weren't for how resilient my skull is they may have caused serious permanent damage, the doctors could not believe i didn't have a skull fracture... they broke 4 of my ribs though, jumping on my back, and then the dude who broke my ribs proceeds to slam my head against the ground maybe 7 times because breakfall reflex my right arm was forwards and he was on my back so it was very awkward to let him turn it back, in the end he actually had to get up a bit so i could rotate my shoulder... pretty funny he had no idea how badly he had smacked my head
i think a lot of people would have been unconscious from what he did to me that day, God bless my concrete head lol!
yeah, something i learned from that is if i ever find myself being attacked, my head is probably my beast weapon, because almost certainly theirs is softer

the magnetic field blocks the space weather, it deflects the flows of electrons and plasma and high energy particles
what doesn't get deflected, tends to end up following the flux lines of the magnetic field down into the poles, where it doesn't affect us so much because it's all icy cold deserts

to be fair, it's all pretty cheap gear, the most expensive component is the RX 7800XT video card... those speakers are studio monitors but like, third world 65 euros ... only just adequate due to having two actual drivers, the pc itself was a budget ryzen AMD thing, with a super cheap, tiny motherboard and ryzen 5

been busy rearranging and tidying the setup
the center monitor is a FHD 144hz portable display that i use as my main viewer for web pages and playing games, the other two were previously a pair, set up in landscape side by side, both tilted inwards like now with their edges together
it's almost like i upgraded to 5 displays by rearranging them like this, now i can have two projects open in vertically split panes on each side as you see in the image
the speakers are probably better for acoustics this way too, with the tweeters at the top of each wider than the mid/bass
i've also rearranged and uncluttered the cables quite a lot doing this, the mini pc's tangle is mostly hidden behind the right monitor now, which is visually better
and yes, those monitors are a tiny bit precarious like that, on top of a smooth speaker cabinet... so i've zip-tied a jar full of water to the neck of the stand so they are more stable... i really should find actual metal weights to put there really
anyhow, no idea how i'm gonna like having two monitors like this in portrait, i've often thought of it and had monitors for some years now that can do it but never found it to be comfortable
been hankering to have a better monitor setup for some time now, but honestly i just want a wide 5k display, just one, about 32", OLED, 144hz, but it's the wrong time to be thinking about such things haha
regarding how the displays are configured to be arranged, the two at the top are sat right against each other and the bottom one in the middle between, like before, except with the two big ones rotated... having them actually arranged to reflect the physical layout puts huge invisible walls around the mouse movement, this is much easier, i can jump left to right at the top and down to the bottom smoothly without wondering where the cursor actually is haha

i already am mostly only eating keto food, here and there a bit of sugars in drinks and wine, and yes it's helping a bit but more so because i have celiac (not sure how i missed it but a rash i have suffered for years turns out to be a typical celiac symptom, dermatitis herpetiformis)
i have been developing symptoms of type 2 diabetes so reversing that is a top priority, it's not just the celiac symptoms i have to contend with it's also tinnitis, double vision, muscle weakness, cramping
i don't believe i have ever really been in full ketosis until earlier this month after 3 days fasting, which was the longest i have ever done it for
what was most interesting was the heat... up until my mid 30s, i often had quite extreme heat coming from my liver, and then it kinda stopped and the slow decline towards diabetes started - it was the most obvious sign my metabolism had changed, and changed in the way of returning to normal
just a couple of days in this state had a massively beneficial effect, i have felt and my brain is working way bettter since this so i need to do the full fast until this happens again and i intend to do it once a month until this state becomes normal again, i stop getting the cramps, the tinnitis, muscle weakness and the double vision
the diabetes is the reason for it, more than anything else, it has totally stolen my strength, endurance and flexibility for nearly a decade and i'm over it, i want my body back

i just discovered that i totally did not understand the structure of nostr filters
specifically the tags
i had worked through all this crazy stuff with a generator for the json marshalling but everything i learned at that time just fell out of my head until just now realising i had written the whole codec wrong for tags
tags in nostr events are actually optional object keys that start with a # prefix and have an array of strings as the value
i had just thrown in the same array of arrays structure from the event lol
time to rewrite some dumb shit lol

it has to be said that every other car on the market looks the same, only the cybertruck looks distinctive
also, many people have tried to do the raw metal finish on a car over the years but aluminium kinda sucks in so many other ways, and for the most part, stainless steel is a huge pain in the ass to work with but making it flat and angular like that probably makes it a lot easier to get right
ah yeah, there is another car around that i see, a 4WD with sharp lines like the cybertruck, idk what it is, similar kind of style to the hummer but simpler lines
i think people are starting to get tired of the government approved aerodynamic look, that makes everything look exactly the same

just want to emphasise... "washing away the soil" requires a lot of energy to be in the water, which means it has been moved far from its normal position in the basins of the oceans
think of image of the spacecraft rising out of the sea in the first episode of the new Dune movies... when that much water moves around, it takes quite some time for it to return to its level, you can see it happening in small scale when you pull an object suddenly upwards out of water, it takes time for the water to return to its repose in the container
now, imagine that half the ocean gets suddenly thrown sideways up onto the land, and think of the complexity of the contours and dips and curves of the land, and that the way the land may have been shaped by evaporation and cloud formation was dictated by the wind and the mountains rather than the particular direction the water flowed from... there will be a lot of resistance to it coming back to the level, but likely it would return to normal after a few weeks to maybe at most a couple of months... some contours will retain water longer than others, but all that loose ground, if it is hit hard by a lot of water even the deepest rooted trees will not hold it, it will be washed away, and as is the process for sedimentation, the heaviest, biggest, most streamlined objects will stop moving first, and then progressively smaller, and less streamlined particles will settle over top
and whenever water moves in one direction, it often hits a barrier and washes back the other direction, and it can happen that as it returns to its place a wave comes from the opposite direction and washes it back again where it first went
this much more clearly explains how you get progressive differing layers of sedimentary rock forming, each layer the slosh-back from waves of oscillation as the ocean slowly loses its momentum over weeks
i mean, idk, it's pretty epic to think about, what would happen if the earth were to suddenly shift 90 degrees in any direction, how long it would take for the water to all fully return to the sea
it takes weeks for floods to subside, and this is 100x more water movement

it seems rather obvious to me that this formation in Mauritania probably was caused by a massive amount of water, and i tend to agree that it could have been the location described in Plato's Critias, a land marked by a massive river called the Tamrasset and crisscrossed with canals and a city built atop a massive ancient epic extinct volcanic ring
there is other places especially in desert regions where you can find other signs of massive water movements, and anywhere that sedimentary rock has stacked up hundreds of metres thick in almost perfectly level layers cannot have been formed slowly, or it would be far more undulating

i follow thet Space Weather guy on youtube, Suspicious Observers, and every day he drops lots of information relating to the looming disaster for our times, and it is Great Flood level, by all the information i have absorbed about it
on one hand i pray that Jesus literally will come and evac us to a safer place elsewhere, and on the other hand i'm plotting my move to high altitude, far-from-ocean spot (current favourite is Mongolia) and dreaming up plans for how that survival will actually be feasible

i built https://github.com/indra-labs/indra - not completed yet, but all the main parts of the network transport are done and tested... needs the lightning network payments integration parts
no shitcoin was in my design... i had to abandon the project because funding dried up

it can be found in the relay event logs, the little cloud icon near the bottom of the side panel, and when this happens, you see that the event has failed to publish to any relays
even, this time, i view the note, click broadcast, and the broadcast also fails
so i copy the text, refresh the browser to restart the app, and anyhow just posted it with #nostrudel instead
but then mysteriously the note is found actually in the local event store of the app

John the prophet, in his book, also is bringing a warning, and as you go through the text of Revelation, it is clear that some parts of it refer to events long past, but later parts, after about 16, refer to events yet to come
what this is about is quite simple and reasonable, actually
disasters happen on a semi-regular basis, and on longer timescales, the geological evidence is they are almost like clockwork, evey 6000 years a major, widespread catastrophe occurs, and less often, even more destructive catastrophes punctuate the normal rhythm
human society has a brittleness in it, that once corruption permeates through the fabric of society beyond a certain point, it is nearly impossible for it to be reformed, and this is where you your Sodom and Gomorrah and Babel and other similar situations
disaster is coming regardless of your opinion about how to "fix" society, and the reason why this is considered by biblical writers to be "from God" is that what it delivers is the actual effective reformation of human society
to end the corruption of a late stage empire, in a long lasting way, you have to destroy all of its large settlements, they literally have to be wiped out, only a tiny fraction of its population survives
this is also how the Babel "confusion of languages" occurred - many of the survivors of the earthquake/flood/volcanic eruption/hellstorm that destroyed the cities of the civilization, often are the small who get forgotten by their corrupted guardians trapped in some structure that survives the conflagration, and they emerge, and with their incomplete understanding of the language and history, grow up, find partners, have children, and pass on their incomplete stories and languages, creating this "confusion"
we are overdue for one of these now
the account in Revelation suggests that the fall of Babylon and Rome were just the warm-up, for a really big one that will see the legacy of the corruption in the modern era finally stamped out completely
it is just a fact of the nature of humans and the history is consistent as is the archaeology

the main thing is that when a government is captured by a ruling party, the lack of competition leads to a steady increase in exploitation, corruption and shady deals that destroy the productive capacity of the people under the government
this leads to starvation, homelessness and those two things lead to crime, and crime leads to previously comfortable people who were managing their stuff ok to needing to act to resolve the problem
the remnants of the middle class will eventually wake up when the starving hordes start to show up in their comfortable suburbs and half the city is burned down, infected with typhoid and cholera, and there is literal poop in the street and nobody can run a business without a security cost beyond their profit margin
then, most likely, some counter faction that got pushed out of power will raise a militia, take over the levers of security services and have yet another constitution and yet another new currency and the cycle repeats
the only way that this bullshit doesn't continue is if they really burn the place down so hard that the cities become smouldering husks, the population of the cities is reduced to under 10% of its former size, and the only survivors are farmers and miners, who a sufficient number of which decided to take up these businesses in order to not be there when the cities are razed
then you will see something new
but i doubt it will get that bad without natural disaster adding to the mix
