Back in 2018, I tore two ligaments in my right ankle at a wrestling tourney.
I was coaching the son of a well-off family. They had me see their doctor. Long story short, I ended up getting 2 PRP shots and - in the words of their doc - supercharged the PRP by injecting BPC-157 into my ankle for a couple months.
The ligaments in my right ankle grew back thicker than the ones in my left lol. Took about 6-7 months but I haven't had any issues and made a full recovery.
That's the only time I used peptides and prefer to use sleep and good eating for most things. But it seems to have really helped for that use case.

Here's what I think would happen if this was done:
1. Shift from Quantity to Quality
People would be more likely to assess food based on what's in it rather than how much energy it has.
2. Highly-processed food loses some of its pull.
No more "low calorie" or "guilt-free" language on junk food.
3. Unintended Consequences
- Could increase overconsumption of food
- Could trigger new forms of eating disorders
- Junk food companies would find ways to obfuscate bad ingredients or make them look healthier than they are (i. e. natural flavors)
Since I've never looked at calories (even when I cut a TON of weight for wrestling), I don't see much use in them.
Removing them would do more good than bad IMO, but a shift like that would require more education.

Which one did you get?
I use the Mito Pro 300+ for the infrared and near infrared light. I notice the energy boost for about an hour after using it. Even longer if I pair it with my UVB panel.
Helps so much in the winter ❄️

5 things I've benefitted from the most this past year:
1. Red light Therapy — Helped a lot with stubborn injuries and low energy levels in the winter.
2. UVB Light Therapy — Pairs well with my red light panel to mimic sunlight. Raises my vitamin D during winter months.
3. Shower Filter — Filters out a lot of harsh chemicals that used to dry my hair and skin out. Now I step out not feeling ashy 😂
4. Seafood — I've ignored seafood for years. My mistake. The omega 3s and vitamin D in wild caught salmon, sardines, and cod liver oil got me feeling great. Gill yeah!
5. Magnesium Glycinate — Melts stress away and makes it easier to fall asleep.
I'm a huge fan of experimenting with tech and foods to optimize my health.

My goals for no-gi jiujitsu this year in order of importancd.
1. Become proficient at defending against inside and outside heel hooks plus straight ankle locks
2. Develop a go to passing system
3. Learn finishing mechanics for my main head & arm chokes (Anaconda & D'arce)
Wrestlers' achilles heel — pun intended — are leg locks. And I'm no different.

Thanks for sharing. I've definitely gone through phases and feel like below is how I optimize performance in different physical activities:
1. Lift in silence
2. Wrestle/practice jiujitsu with music
3. Compete without music.
That marathon music story is tragic 😭.
I can relate.
In college, I listened to hype music before I went out to compete. Think crazy house mixes and edm.
I was always more nervous and anxious than I felt I should be.
After talking to our team sport psychologist, I realized the hype music was greatly adding to the nerves/stress I felt. Resulting in a worse performance (and shot adrenals in the long-term).
Once I changed it to calm or no music (wish I remembered the playlist he gave us back then), I competed far better, felt less anxious, and overall wasn't as overwhelmed with the experience.
I could see the experience for what it was...a wrestling match in some random gym.
I do know folks who are the complete opposite tho.

Going to give this a try 2-3x per week and report back:
- Recipe: 1 teaspoon baking soda, 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide (3% or less concentration only), 8 drops of water. Mix well, dab toothbrush into mixture and gently brush teeth. Mixture function- breaks the bonds of molecular staining agents.
- For 10-20mins, swish coconut oil around to oil pull bacteria out and spit it out

No music & pods during workouts > music & pods during workouts.
A few years ago, I went to the gym and forgot my headphones.
I was so frustrated, I almost skipped my workout.
It was then that I realized how dependent I was on media — ridiculous frustration was my withdrawals.
From that day forward, I started working out without any music or pods.
I went from frustration -> creativity.
Rather than flood my brain with other peoples' lyrics & ideas, my brain was free to form its own.
And working out supercharged it.
Having "shower thoughts" during my workouts is now one of the highlights of my day.
In 2025, I'm embracing more silence and less media during tasks...
So I can hear the chatter in my head.
It's amazing what comes to mind when you give it space.

Breaking open the turtle position can be difficult in jiujitsu.
Especially when people go into survival mode with no intention to open up.

The number one takedown in wrestling is also the best bang-for-your-buck wrestling move in jiujitsu. Everyone has to respect the choke from the front headlock position. Even great wrestlers!
Master the "front headlock to a go behind" and you'll be a major threat to anyone who tries to grab your legs.

The jiujitsu gym I was going to had a lot of momentum.
It was no-gi only and had an awesome culture. Everyone was bought in.
Sadly, the owner couldn't justify renewing another 3 year lease.
Instead, we're spreading practices out in a couple basements (for now). Mine being one of them.
It's slowly coming together.

The #1 takedown in wrestling is the go behind. It's also the takedown with the best ROI in jiujitsu IMO.
A good sprawl and go behind can make you hard to takedown even for a really good wrestler. Especially in jiujitsu. Mainly because they need to respect the choke.
