there is a contrarian position on this... the Bitcoin Core clique of devs is very hermetic and exclusive, and one could argue that giving too much money to the same clique of people is counterproductive in the long term but if this was true one would also fund other groups of devs simultaneously (e.g. Knots, BDK) and especially one would also fund non-protocol developers as well. I have no confidence in the Bitcoin Core development process at all (especially since speedy trial).

*The Rare Sat Lie*
Let's start with some facts.
You cannot own a satoshi (sat). You can only own a utxo, who's value is measured in sats. Just like you cannot own a "kilogram" but you can own something which weights a kilogram.
The idea that a sat can be rare is a lie, since sats don't exist.
A utxo also cannot be sold, because as soon as it is spent, a completely new utxo is created, and the creation of this new utxo makes the previous utxo (which you wanted to sell) spent. To act of spending "an unspent transaction output" (UTXO) transforms it into something fundamentally different, a "spent transaction output" (STXO) and creates a new UTXO.
The idea that a utxo can be sold is a lie, since even utxos cannot be sold.
The idea that a rare sat from a "special" utxo can be bought is thus a double lie.

correct me if I'm wrong, but 2412 MHz is the frequency of the alternating current. Having a cable doesn't change the frequency of the alternating current, it just makes the circuit longer.
The length of the antenna is required for the right wave to be able to escape the circuit and travel through the air.
Assuming that the cable can be modeled as an extension of the antenna (in a dipole antenna this is clearly not the case). If you send a 2412 MHz signal through the wire, you would still get 2412MHz radio waves, the only difference is that your new antenna (antenna + cable) is worse at transmitting it.
I am just an amateur SDR user, so I might have made many mistakes. Just answering from intuition.

Why is it that artists who can create art without being tied to commercial interests are becoming increasingly rare? It seems like such a luxury, accessible only to a select few. On the flip side, commercialized art is gaining more value and recognition.
Why don’t we see the momentum behind major art movements today, like the emergence of the Mona Lisa, Van Gogh’s Starry Night, or the birth of art movements like Impressionism or Bauhaus?
Is all of this related to the devaluation of money, or are humans just getting lazy and running out of ideas?

Outrossim, em outra esfera, na tentativa de uma melhor usabilidade, instalei uma nova extensão, só que agora, no Safari Mac (Nos2X). Por fim, e não menos importante, depois de fazer tudo isso, ainda não estava pronto; faltava algo para funcionar perfeito. Então foi aí, que o @npub1vxd…rs50 me orientou a baixar o cliente em modelo #TestFlight (Beta) @npub1n0s…k6h0; ao qual, expus meu NSEC. Tudo funcionou perfeitamente! Animado com essa dinâmica bem-sucedida, e após um longo papo com @npub124r…tuhs — que também estava na conversa, nos despedirmos. Respondi algumas DM’s, convidei outros colegas para participar de uma próxima, até que eu percebi que havia sido hackeado.
Meu peril havia sido modificado, meu avatar não era mais uma foto minha, e sim, de uma mulher com essa imagem do Star Wars, ao fundo. A bio não existia mais, meu nome substituído por “Torrie Jane”. PARECEU LOUCURA… Coisa da minha cabeça! Mas não foi só eu que vi! Então encucado fiquei. Mas substitui tudo de novo, pensei que fosse um erro do aplicativo @npub18m7…q955 ; @npub12vk…pugg ou @npub1n0s…k6h0. E iniciei uma conversa com o Idsera, a respeito. O que confirmou minha história, que também viu — mas achou que eu estava brincando. 🤯
E após eu ter desfeito tudo o que foi alterado, as supracitadas informações, retornaram para perfil; só que agora, zeraram minha conta Lightning Primal e sequencialmente, excluíram por completo minha conta. Em resumo, estou bem chateado por reiniciar minha jornada junto com vocês do zero - tanto em amigos, quanto em Sats, que havia sobre minha acautela. A maldade em nosso redor, é amplificado constantemente, mesmo quando não desejamos mau a ninguém.
Eu não sei se continuei a criar minhas notas como antes, de modo à dividir parte do meu dia a dia com vocês novamente. if you don't want to put prices on your property, sure go ahead, as long as you don't coerce anyone into the same. if you don't want your community to use money, go ahead but be consequent about it. your community won't even be able to produce a pencil. congratulations.

Announcing noclvag, Nostr OpenCL Vanity Address Generator.
It's something I put together that uses OpenCL on GPU, instead of CPU, to search for npubs with a specific prefix. I used it to find my npub (npub1alex0jsan...). Much faster than CPU, in my case.
It's rough and probably has a bunch of bugs, but it seems to work. It's based on vanitygen-plusplus.
It's AGPL3+ licensed. I didn't upload it anywhere else. Feel free to upload it somewhere easy to access. The link below should last for around 90 days. I would have uploaded it myself, but I'm not aware of git forges that work over Tor and without email, etc.
noclvag uses the the split-key method described in VanitySearch to allow the user to ask a 3rd party to search for an npub for them without compromising their final nsec. I think it would be great if support for this is built into nsec bunkers (like Amber), and maybe some mining services can be spun up to make vanity npubs accessible to users.
A word of caution. This is generally not my field of expertise. Consider the software experimental.

I think I can help.
I put together something that uses OpenCL on GPU, instead of CPU. I used it to find my npub. Much faster, in my case.
It's rough and probably has a bunch of bugs, but it seems to work. I call it noclvag, Nostr OpenCL Vanity Address Generator. It's based on vanitygen-plusplus.
It's AGPL3+ licensed. I didn't upload it anywhere else. Feel free to upload it somewhere easy to access. The link below should last for 90 days. I would have uploaded it myself, but I'm not aware of git forges that work over Tor and without email, etc.

ok, I'm a brand new non technical user, first heard of NOSTR in a libertarian chat on Telegram, a few months ago. Yesterday on X, Reason posted an article "Nostr is a community-run digital network highly resistant to censorship and corruption." It caught my attention, so I found and joined this new platform for me. My interest are Canadian libertarian politics, general economics, general trucking as I'm a simple truck driver for a living, the carnivore lifestyle for my health and my family is most important to me.
As a non technical user, I must engage in my own learning curve and discover how I and this platform community can mutually benefit from my limited participation.

This morning was a nightmare. It was my wife's birthday. I got all the presents and everything, but I thought - what if she doesn't like what I do? I want to light a candle, sing happy birthday to her, give her the gifts. But then I wondered, what if she'd prefer a quieter celebration at lunchtime? I realized there were no guidelines to follow that I know of. I immediately started browsing the body of law. I started with federal, state, even county regulations. There were no regulations about how to celebrate birthdays.
This is a **pressing** problem. I can do it how I want to do it, it might be even the right way, but I cannot prove it, if it's not legislated and standardized.
Hearby I call for national democratic discussion on a bill "Standardization and regulation of birthday celebrations, festivities and anniversaries", which would once and for all solve this problem that most of us face several times per year!

The way I see it Bitcoin is on track to become the universal preferred currency as EVERYTHING IS TECHNOLOGY AND TECHNOLOGY FUNCTIONS THE WORLD
Same reasons you use an L2 on Bitcoin. You would use L2s on Monero for instant and much cheaper payments. Offchain txs can also be better for privacy especially when combined with an encrypted base layer.
There doesn't have to be exchange risk with Monero either. There are several atomic swaps out there between BTC and XMR like UnstoppableSwap, BasicSwapDEX, and soon Serai if that is what you meant. You can have wallets that do the exact same thing in the background. Cake and Stack already do this.
Ok sure, but you're only getting around force closes this way by taking on intermediaries like LSPs meaning you're asking permission to transact and introducing privacy implications.

I don't know why you're trying to minimize dark web adoption. Bitcoins only real use case is on black markets. The place where Monero is displacing it.
Bitcoins advantages DO NOT extend into white markets. If you're going to ask permission to transact and follow the rules (thats what it means to operate on white markets) you might as well use fiat for that.
Bitcoin is just a slower, less accepted, expensive (in tx fees and tax liabilities), less private version of fiat in any white market scenario.
This is why you should eat more pizza

Hello LM. Regardless of whether Chris's problem is that he's an agent, or just highly biased, I've lost confidence in his investigation. But he's surfaced a lot of evidence: he says he has six videos from different locations around the crime scene. Is anybody else processing all that evidence? It seems like it might be possible to triangulate the various audio sources to find out where shots were coming from.
