It is the lack of evidence that is my point. We can all point to examples where it may appear to work or not work, but it is not always easy in a highly complex organisation to justify subjective views. A SoS should have done this 15 to 20 years ago.
I think our subjective views are very similar, but that is only part of my critique.
Politically politicians love to interfere in the NHS, but usually make matters worse.

If I was in charge of the NHS there are 2 areas in which I would start investing.
1. Diagnostics - pathology and radiology. Screening programmes. This would improve early diagnosis and treatments in less bed intensive settings.
2. District Nurses - probably the most undervalued staff by decision makers. They have the skills to support patients in the community where they usually prefer to be treated.
And of course tackle the health/social care interface disaster.

The so called Internal Market has operated for long enough that it should have been possible to assess whether or not it has achieved improved patient care and financial effectiveness. I am not aware of any major study into this.
The days of the old Hospital Administrators are long gone. A cost benefit analysis into the changes in organisations and structures would be highly complex.
My view is that a study would struggle to show major gains.

Here in the UK hardly anyone is interested in baseball, but for me it is the best sport. I started taking a close interest during covid, and I get more interested each year.
There is a rhythm to games, but always the possibility of dramatic fluctuations.
It is also a very simple game, but also very complex. Particularly with pitching there is loads I don't understand.

The ears and water can be a problem. After several infections we have Fluffy Bear on a twice weekly dose of drops for maintenance. May be worth discussing with the vet when the infection has cleared.

my #GratefulForYou heads up would be for @npub15w9…2huq her wisdom and view of her world I find really quite inspiring. She is a very special lady living a not always easy life. When I see the Detroit Tigers have won, my first thought is that she will be pleased. Oh, and there are loads of pictures of the wonderful Summer the dog.

As a German Shepherd owner, I nearly always keep her on at least an extendable lead. This is the advice I have always read. The only exception might be a very quiet, beach, but in reality I don't as she would eat sand or get it down her ear.
Some dogs need to train their owners better. Complete idiot, and dangerous with it.

I'm sure baseball is not your first interest, but this is a fascinating look at a disused baseball ground. This stadium was used at the level below the Major Leagues, and I guess the equivalent of a County Cricket Ground, such as Taunton or Canterbury.

Excellent post. Only a tiny % of people in this country have any idea about farming. The mental health problems this creates in the farming community are immense.
Farmers are stuffed by the supermarkets, ignored and misled by politicians, and out of sight to the general public.
It is also true that farmers can be their own worst enemy. There is also a huge problem of investment farmer/landowners.
