That's not true at all. Difficulty, on average, only changes by a few small percentage points each adjustment. So there is plenty of time to remain profitable so long as you aren't getting into mining with an unprofitable setup from the get-go.

Yes. The feed in nostr vault is nice!
There's a but of history on all sides on that in SA!
I looked at the play store and some googling and couldn't find. That probably explains why.

Wasn't there, didn't see, cannot verify. Maybe. But sometimes just bad luck. Great to have goals and always good to push and find limits. Just sometimes beating yourself up for not reaching means you over extend. I think that's what he did. Set your own goals and don't compare, there's always someone stronger (depending on the gym you go to!)

And to this end I now recommend trusted third parties that I think are better than others. Strike instead of Coinbase, etc if they aren't comfortable yet.

I agree with @npub1lxz…svxa on the endpoints. I just don't see how forcing everyone into those as entry points will be a more successful approach than what we've been doing. I think we should keep educating people. People like Hanshan are why I use a better mix of tools now. But I feel like the plot is lost if you go fully to either extreme.
There can't be any freedom something something if people don't have the freedom to choose trusted third parties OR self-custody. People aren't just going to wake up and realize they need to hold Bitcoin in cold storage and run a node. Or Monero if that's your thing. I don't see it. I think my path is the most likely as it's what has been happening for years.

When’s the funeral for bitcoin?
I don’t buy it. What are they, babies? People get offended that easily? Nah. People who left just had other ideas that didn’t fit into the bitcoin box.
Content creators think it’s absurd to have to pay to post, yet think it’s perfectly normal to have a 30-40% platform cut from their gains. 🤷♂️
You know I think people should have both options (and they do broadly, I mean on a login screen - but I'm not rehashing that here). That's the point I'm trying to make. If people won't come without that entry, how are we better off? How are they? I think they'll be ahead of fiat systems even if they're using a centralized service in the beginning. That's exactly how I got to where I am. I started on Coinbase, Kraken, and then Trezor and then SeedSigner. Now I run a little miner. And I buy shit p2p on Nostr.
But I always had both options. Ideally we get to a point that people don't have to start that way, but we aren't there. Where we ARE is that they don't have to end there.
It's like tossing the whole box out because one egg was imperfect. Makes no sense to me.
i'm working on it, but it's not "mine" alone 🫡

Good Morning

People who are willing to pay for relays, don't mind paying 50¢-$3/month for one. The prices are negligible. Less than the price of a cup of coffee.
People wanting to pay 3¢ to post three times per month are a tiny market of people who actually just don't like paying for a relay and will probably do it once or twice and then stop, leaving you with the fixed costs and the overhead. They're the market segment equivalent of those people who will drive 10 miles out of their way to get 2 packages of butter for 50¢ cheaper and purchase nothing else.
They'd rather spend $2k on a new PC or a top-line iPhone and self-host, to be honest. It's simply not a market that makes any sort of economic sense because their aversion to paying isn't about the price. They don't like paying other people for IT services. Full stop.
I prefer to just offer them the lower-quality freebie version and not have to bother haggling with them over whether it should be 3¢ or 2.45¢.
There are Class A, B, and C customers. Pull out all of the stops for As, offer the Bs a bare-bones el-cheapo version, and let the Cs scrape along with the freebie version. This goes into the classic 7Ps of marketing.

i've helped a lot of people on GLP-1s transition off by micro dosing and choosing a real food animal based diet. with micro doses the appetite suppression is subtle so you have to create an environment for habit formation.
micro doses create less side effects but give some GLP related help. It's like using elastic bands to do your first pull up until you can successfully do it yourself against gravity.
