Des États membres de l’Union européenne cherchent à prolonger un régime temporaire autorisant les plateformes de messagerie à détecter certains contenus liés aux abus sexuels sur mineurs. Cette initiative ravive le débat sur la compatibilité de ces mécanismes avec le chiffrement et les libertés numériques.
Selon l’article, les ambassadeurs des États membres ont approuvé l’ouverture des discussions malgré le rejet d’une prolongation par le Parlement européen en mars. Plusieurs eurodéputés estiment que cette démarche pourrait compliquer les négociations sur le futur cadre législatif permanent consacré au CSAM.
⚠️ Cette initiative pourrait constituer un précédent institutionnel et renforcer les débats européens sur les limites juridiques de l’analyse automatisée des communications chiffrées.

We need to focus on educating community leaders that nostr is a tool that empowers them, and developing the tools to do that in a way that doesn't have the security flaw of corporate platforms harvesting their data and having power over them.

I'm already seeing a lot more diversity of content than there was a couple years ago despite there being fewer active users. There's still a bazillion posts about Bitcoin and Bitcoin podcasts and shit but there's a lot of other stuff too.

Did some reading. Surge protects high voltage. In a brownout they do nothing.
Brownouts still break things because low voltage draws the current high enough to let the magic smoke out.

They can certainly just come back and mine on Bitcoin. But a split 110 with the hashrate it has now would rake ~3 years til its first difficulty adjustment.

The main issue with this post is that we are already here. Obviously everyone should adopt platforms that are immune to censorship, that is why I am here to begin with.
Nostr has some ways to go before it is a beginner friendly platform but apps like wisp help with that.

I would not be surprised if Japan goes to war in the next 15 years. When your economy collapses, they need a reset - and war is one way to get there. Hence the recent push for re-militarization of the country, with insane defense budgets.
My hope is my kids move abroad before they are fighting age.
