(I can’t speak for all Monero bros, I can only speak for myself, I am diversified, and Bitcoin can be practical as an extension of The fiat system when used in conjunction with LEDN, Better, or other lending platforms.
As far as Bitcoin, I intend to save some up to use as part of a collateralized loan for a mortgage one day
I also use it on square to at least promote crypto usage, though ideally I should use Cake Wallet’s Anypay that lets you pay in Crypto A, and receiver get paid in Crypto B but I feel like that’s too risky/time consuming so I’d rather just have some Bitcoin for direct payments instead)

There is a dynamic block size, and a hard fork is likely to follow the market for uncensorable transactions. If Monero becomes a mainstream method of online payment, I think we should fork it to a small block design in order to maintain the hardened architecture rather than leave the current model of fast blocks and low fees.
There are theoretical L2 schemes for Monero, and XMR-BTC atomic swaps are running today.
XMR is more cash-oriented; the worst aspect of the Monero architecture is that it is much more vulnerable to reorg attacks due to the lower amount of energy spent on security.

I do think the basic idea behind the EU’s Digital Services Act makes sense: services with tens of millions of users can have major societal effects, so requiring transparency, risk assessments, independent audits and accountability is not unreasonable.
But the categories do not fit every modern service equally well.
Reddit being classified as a Very Large Online Platform makes perfect sense. It is almost the textbook definition of one: users publish content, others comment and vote, recommendation systems influence visibility, and the platform hosts huge public communities.
Roblox also fits the VLOP category reasonably well once you stop thinking of it as merely a video game. It is really a platform for user-created games and experiences, with social features, communication, recommendation systems and a massive creator ecosystem. Law needs categories, of course. The problem begins when a new kind of technology does not really fit the existing categories, so regulators squeeze it into the closest available drawer anyway.

So my view is basically:
Reddit as VLOP: very sensible. Roblox as VLOP: also quite sensible. ChatGPT as VLOSE: legally understandable, conceptually awkward.
Regulating very large AI services is not inherently a bad idea. But in the long run, generative AI assistants probably deserve a regulatory category that actually describes what they are, rather than pretending they are simply very large search engines.

It allows for more competition, innovation, and alteration directly.
A closed source project would have to be reverse engineered, & would take longer to improving alternatives.
Open source allows people to see everything unedited, and reduces barriers to modifications.
In theory if someone discovered a more efficient way it could make it cheaper but it doesn’t make it cheaper directly, it just makes the ability to make it cheaper more easier though.
