These aren't only being installed on public property. Lots of streets in the USA are private roads and they are also getting covered in these things.
I also don't see the moral quandry. If it is fine to monitor and record everyone in public, then it is fine. It's not as if Americans aren't being recorded 360 degrees 24/7. The doorbells, the security cameras aimed at the street, the ATMs, the cars, camera phones everywhere, Google glasses, etc. Nobody had any problem with it.
I think American residents are just seeing these video poles and are suddenly realizing that they are living on live TV and it upset them.
Time to put $5,000 or more into their brokerage accounts when they’re young so it can compound by the time they’re old enough to move out.
Or pay for their college.
At this point, parents are either going to have to pitch in, or zoning laws need to change because people can’t make it under the current conditions.
Anyone under 30 isn’t going to be able to bootstrap themselves.

I think the future is everyone having their own client. I just build for myself. I use Nostr a lot and it's worth it for me to have something that does what I want.
Most people are just scrolling the kind 1 feed, without even hitting the ❤ . They are fine with any dumb viewer, and are happy to have the content preselected, so they don't need anything more complex.

Was more thinking invite others to build together. Some have curiosity and fear or confusion. I'm personally trying to build some insane shit foryself but when speak to other geologists, they're just not comfortable going out of their lane. Same applies to many and it's always a question to me: how many creative ideas are achievable with a less daunting perception.
