The songs are archive of stories not phases. I store them as time capsules, my state of mind and phase determine what kind of songs I could come up with for that specific story. Does it make sense?

I co-created the EP with Steffen Sidi, an indie musician and producer, he played most guitar, bass, and some drums in my EP. He came from a more indie rock background so we ended up having some nice mix-matched style from both of our natural preference. Cigarettes After Sex does come up in Ivy Lumi Radio!
I write songs like diary haha sometimes lyrics come first, sometimes melody does. I've been learning to produce my own ideas in the past year , and now I usually work on a song and come up with whatever I feel like should be there, then I work with a co-producer (who's usually also a musician) to optimize from there and fill in the gap. Still finding new process for each song at the moment as I'm so new!
Thank you for sharing - I can see the link indeed, always wanted to collab with rock band - I wonder how my voice would fit in a band setting!

Oh wow @nprofile…4dkc and @nprofile…mg30 are true experts - yes it's a Lewitt mic and it's a 440 Pure. I was debating between this one and Rode NT1-A, preferred this one for more air and crisp!
The studio where I recorded WOWOWOW also had a Lewitt mic, I enjoyed!

For TWO YEARS I couldn’t figure out why my mic sounded so quiet in my home studio - always carrying this rusty, vintage-80s texture. I thought it was just my lousy environment.
Turns out… I was recording with a powerful stage mic, not a true studio mic. Great for live energy, not so great at capturing subtle emotional details - the little textures I was actually reaching for.
Then it took another month to finally sort the order and welcome a new mic into the studio - I was feeling ambitious and wanted to release a new song for Valentine’s Day 😅 (stay tuned!) - a lot of making music is about trusting the process. ✨
There’s this jet lag between me and my music - the time difference between when a line is written and when it’s finally heard. A jet lag between me and myself. A whisper stored in a time capsule.
How I lingered.
How I moved on.
The timeline between past, present, and future keeps surfacing in front of me while I’m still inside a much larger puzzle. The sensation of it all.
Now that I’m producing more myself (and hopefully improving along the way), I’m excited to hear how this new voice shapes the next tracks.
Bye-bye to my good old mic — for now.
We’ll meet again on stage someday 🎤

Not gonna lie, I laughed at myself for feeling burnt out in January.
I grew up disciplined to do what I "was supposed to do" - as fast and as perfectly as possible - because that was the only way I earned a little time to play. Life continued that way for quite some time, and somewhere along the line it became harder and harder to relax. But at the end of the day, I’m still just that child wanting to play.
The sense of duty is strong - it's making me lose hair. And I’ve come to realize part of that is my ego: the belief that I have to be the person to make things happen, that I have to show up for my job, my relationships, and the people I love. That mentality gave me discipline. It made proof of work feel natural.
It also makes me suffer, over an imaginary burden that, I know, isn’t really there.
Looking for signs among the stars with @nprofile…ue60, I’ve been realizing that most of my exhaustion doesn’t come from work itself, but from resistance - trying to carry things that were never mine to carry.
Am I extending enough attention and care to myself? Am I attending to my own needs before showing up in front of the world?
So I'm finding myself practicing letting go again.
It turns out I don’t really “have to” do anything. Life goes on. All roads lead to Rome. There’s relief in that.
A few days ago I asked @nprofile…mqam during our conversation for @nprofile…pzzu (stay tuned!):
"What stands between the post-modern individual sitting in trauma and God’s teaching?"
Adam's answer was Humility. I couldn’t agree more.
Through humility, it becomes possible to surrender and lose ourselves in the act of service, while still serving with authenticity.
Not saying the path is God and only God (although God is Love, lol), but the lesson stays. We don’t have to be miserable to serve. Everyone benefits when actions are driven by Love and not Fear.
No structure exists without surrender. Once structure is set, you surrender to it through discipline. But pause there: are you building structure for the right thing? Because moving faster in the wrong direction only takes you further away.
Eventually, for me, it comes down to alignment.
Mind - logic, the toolkit to navigate the world.
Body - the vessel of heart and consciousness. Is it strong enough to carry transformation without collapsing?
Heart - love, the ultimate truth.
Soul - purpose.
Grace appears when they move together. In that process, time becomes less relevant.
Still on this path.
