Okay, Squid Game won me over. It's far from perfect, and the epilogue is one of the biggest missteps ever. But if you take out the horrible and inappropriate twist ending they put in at the very end for no reason (and also ignore the idiotic pink hair color), it's a pretty amazing show with good themes and riveting characters:
-In a world of utility, of what value is compassion?
-Equality vs Loyalty?
-Practicality vs. Morality?
-The true cost of objectifying people.
But 👎 Seasons 2 & 3.

I honestly don't know. The guy isn't my cup of tea and I didn't make it more than about halfway through the video before I needed to find something else to do.

Because there is so much more variety in cancer than most folks understand, and there is zero percent chance that a large portion of these cancers, being biopsied and studied at the cellular level, are secretly worm eggs and nobody noticed. Anyone have recommendations on simple "slideshow making" software? I know I can make my own show in Davinci Resolve, but I don't really want to spend the time doing all the transitions for each photo. I'm looking for a simple program that will simply take the pictures I want, make a slideshow out of them with basic transitions and perhaps dynamic zoom, and make it exportable in something like an .mp4 format.
Does such a thing exist?

Technically, the requirement to do some form of penance every Friday is still in force, only none of the V2 bishops care. My kids and I still do meatless Fridays all year, because that's as good a form of penance as anything else.
Notable Exceptions: Friday after Easter and the Friday after Thanksgiving (Pius XII gave Americans a special indult so they could eat up their leftover turkey).

I think it's weird that folks are trying to make a 2nd Amendment issue out of the dude who got shot by ICE. Watched the Season 2 "The A-Team" episode "The Taxicab Wars." What an enjoyable, ridiculous show that shows absolutely no regard for automobile safety. And with Michael Ironside, Ernie Hudson, and even Brion James (from Bladerunner) it was a cavalcade of 80s stars.
TV shows used to be so much fun. I'm glad my kids get to enjoy this stuff and aren't stuck with the modern drivel.

Watched "Hitch" with the kids. It's a fun romantic comedy with Will Smith being charming and Kevin James being funny. For the time it came out, it's a solid, middle-tier movie.
What struck me is how, compared to today's movies, it's a bloody masterpiece! It has relatively fleshed out characters, sincere emotional moments, subtle weaving of various plots, fun moments, sharp dialogue . . . a mid tier 2005 movie is like Citizen Kane compared to the slop in theaters and on streaming today.

I sympathize. As someone who's been trying hard to put down roots, things have unfolded over the past couple of years that have prompted me to think I may need to move in the near future. I just don't think the sane people are ever going to win the fight in California. Tolerating a tiny yappy dog is no problem. I'm specifically thinking of my FIL who had a tiny yappy dog that bites everyone on the back of the calf. He was unable to control the dog, the dog had no respect for him, so even when I brought his grandkids over the dog would try to bite them and he'd have to stand there holding it on a leash the entire visit. The dog also used the bathroom all over the house.
It's just really pathetic watching a grown man get dominated by a tiny, yappy dog.

Web design seems like it's gone goofy. I'm running into more and more issues on retail websites where they simply don't work. "Enter your email address" - I do, but when I click submit the page does nothing. Just when you think you're disgusted enough with American Bishops, they find new lows to sink to. Can we give Henry Cavill some credit for his Robert Vaughn impression in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."? It's enough to give one the sense of Napoleon Solo but it's not so much that it slips into being a parody.
Arnie Hammer wasn't given much to work with, and Ilya wasn't the most distinct character to being with. But Cavill did a fine job in what I was surprised to find was a pleasant enough (not great, but pleasant) little spy movie.

The 1999 "The Mummy" movie is a dumb, fun adventure that's better than it has any right to be. It helps that the cast has so much charm and fit so well into their roles and that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously.
I know they tried spinning this off into a franchise, but the sequels were dreadful. What probably would have been better is if Rick & company encountered a DIFFERENT classic monster in the sequel, like Dracula or the Wolf Man. Missed opportunities!

Was that Disney, too? There's a whole bunch of cartoons I remember from that time period, but I don't remember who all they belong to. Like the Shirt Tails. I actually wasn't even sure if Disney did Gummy Bears - I had to look it up.

They had a whole different strategy. They had the afternoon line up of Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, and the Gummy Bears. What's interesting is that they kind of cast those characters by the wayside. Not that I've been to (or plan to go to) WDW, but I don't think they prominently feature any of that 90s lineup.
