Watched "Hitch" with the kids. It's a fun romantic comedy with Will Smith being charming and Kevin James being funny. For the time it came out, it's a solid, middle-tier movie.
What struck me is how, compared to today's movies, it's a bloody masterpiece! It has relatively fleshed out characters, sincere emotional moments, subtle weaving of various plots, fun moments, sharp dialogue . . . a mid tier 2005 movie is like Citizen Kane compared to the slop in theaters and on streaming today.
