Tourists should avoid the US. End of.
Work trips need very careful consultations and detailed planing. No company should expect its employees to go there in the foreseeable future.

How can potential criminals or psychos differentiate between residents and visitors or tourists? And why would they even bother?
Of course there are dangers that mainly affect US citizens. But I generally dislike the gun culture, disrespect for women in a lot of areas and the systemic racism.
I want want my daughter to be safe. And should something terrible happen I want her to have access to healthcare (including abortion). 🫤

I get where you're coming from with you Hitler-Reagan comparison.
Still I am convinced that you simply cannot (and should not) compare the atrocities of Nazi Germany, Stalin, Mussolini, Idi Amin, Pinochet etc. to the mainly economic consequences of Reagonomics.

When you talk about damage surely Hitler and Stalin are by far the top targets.
Reagan was a disastrous president, always hated his policies (in connection with Thatcher, Kohl etc.) but as far as atrocities go he's not even close to the top 20.
And as far as capitalism and exploiting the worker are concerned that was more down to Göring, not Hitler.

Interesting sidenote:
My daughter and her friends in secondary school (German 'Gymnasium') are in the 10th year now. In year 11 they have the opiton to go abroad for a couple of months or up to year.
Quite a few named the US as a goal. They quickly found out that they don't wanna go there cause it is too dangerous. Most parents I know wouldn't let them go there (me included).
That is a sad development.

Ich lege mich sogar fest, dass diese Regelung nun um einiges wahrscheinlicher geworden ist.
Wissing war an Lindners Egoporsche gekettet, hat sich aber vor rund zwei Jahren sehr klar zu den Vorteilen von E-Auto und Fahrradinfrastruktur ausgesprochen.

Quite a big portion of MAGA nutjobs will certainly actively support deportations, concentration camps and violence against minorities.
But I'm conviced that there's also a large part of that group very willing to simply block/ignore these uncomfortable aspects. You need to shock them out of their lazu ignorance.
