One other interesting thing about #blockforge is that as the value of Bitcoin goes up, so too will the cost of #inscriptions to make land alterations.
The (data) size of the inscriptions roughly tracks with the complexity of the changes that are made, so assuming this project gets any legs at all, there is an incentive to try to anticipate what kind of structure development will be most useful for the future of this #metaverse, and make it now before it gets too expensive.

1. Amethyst -- still top dog, of almost all clients I've tried on either mobile or web
2. Ditto -- I love the UI, but under the hood issues, lack of inbox and momostr functionality knocks it out of daily driver for me
3. Wisp -- gotta respect utxo's hustle but I'm just not a fan of the UI relative to 1 and 2
Web:
1. Coracle -- was my first client and even though it's not my daily driver anymore, the fast, sleek UI and custom feed creation is second to none. I'd use it all the time IF it just allowed reposts, which it maddingly still doesn't
2. Nostria -- my current daily driver. Does (most) everything I need, but needs some UI cleanup. Also, can be slow relative to Amethyst for getting posts / notifications.
3. Nosotros -- pretty fast and nice interface, but not many features

Yeah this needs much more outreach from people who (hopefully like most of us) are beyond the transpartisan divide.
The Left seems to be taking a increasingly Luddite stance towards tech, rejecting it altogether out of (deserved) fear of entities like Palantir rather than developing the means to combat it (beyond simply dressing in black and shouting through megaphones)
I said it before but I'll say it again, on Nostr we need to reach out to Mastodon much more. Those people understand the need for digital decentralization in communication technology.

I think we'll look back on the 2010's as such a unique moment for digital insurgency against the 21st century Security State. I'd put Cody Wilson in this camp as well.
These men thumbed their nose at what most would consider a nigh-omnipotent US State Security Apparatus, and actually managed to throw a monkey wrench its its gears.
They've all paid the price in various ways, but the tactics they left behind remain viable. Darknet markets still exist and require just as significant State resources to shut down as they did 10 years ago. Ghost guns and the technology to make them remain just as available as when Wilson introduced "The Liberator."

Yes, at least temporarily -- as @nprofile…hxh3 has pointed out, BTC is essentially the most liquid asset every -- tradeable worldwide 24/7... Nothing else is like that.
So when there's some shock, it's BTC that gets liquidated first to cover dollar-denominated losses.
But then in a real crash, we're going to have TrumpBuck airdrops, so that will inevitably lead to further inflation.... and water will find its level.

True -- now there's something of a "golden handcuffs" problem, because interest rates in the 2010's were at a historic low relative to now, so homeowners feel they can't move because their home payment would balloon.... again, policy problems.
But Austin has seen a massive building boom corresponding to rental rate decreases, so it *can* work...

Land is constant, but housing absolutely isn't. Vast swaths of area in major US Metro areas is exclusively zoned for single-family housing. This could be upzoned tomorrow to triple, quadruple, or maybe even 10x the housing stock.

"Shortage" of something isn't generally distinguishing something that's a "pure market" product or a policy failure, but fine.
The rest sounds like something of an excessive vacancy argument, which isn't really backed by the evidence -- vacancy rates in most major metro areas in the US hover around ~ a few percentage points.
The notion of landlords squatting on non-occupied homes holding out for a higher rate or whatever really isn't a huge contributor to the problem... Although I'd be more inclined to agree with this when it comes to *commercial* properties in downtown areas specifically.

Sure -- and like those things, it's subject to the same laws as supply and demand. It being "essential for life" doesn't change any of that, same with health care.
So in this context, more supply, and the price goes down. Over-generalization? Sure. But it's an over-generalization in the sense of "water goes downhill." Globally it works, even if you can always find small pockets where it doesn't.

Honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic about this in the context of the rest of the paragraph, but this is preposterously untrue. Every serious analysis of housing across major job centers in the US shows a massive policy-produced housing shortage. This is why YIMBY groups exist.
The example about the German housing market only supports the market-based housing argument. Rent control, along with single-family zoning are both failed Boomer policies that need to go.

"Holding cultural milestones hostage" <-- never heard it expressed that way, that's very good phrasing.
Part of this is -- marriage happening a little later, OK, that's not necessarily the end of the world in the sense of more economic opportunities, longer lifespans, etc.
Also "homeownership" is a bit restrictive here because I do believe that rental, co-op, condo etc forms of ownership or "having stakes" are valid as well....
But the general point is taken. People vote for fascists (or communists but mostly fascists in the US) when they can't see a future for themselves.

Sure, of course it has to be "housing at all levels"... In many major urban Metro areas in the US, you have situations where relatively wealthier middle-class professionals are effectively "bidding up" the cost of what should be cheaper housing, because the housing they need literally doesn't exist.
Also I don't think it's immediately clear what's worse -- high-density "slums" closer to job / health care opportunities in the urban center, or forcing working class people to drive hours from Exurbs to work jobs in the urban center?

There's a lot to respond to here. As a libertarian I do find it unfortunate that (say) sensible arguments against the wealth tax with solid public policy and economic foundations gets lumped in with "we need to bomb Iran" as both being arguments "from the Right."
That being said when I think about younger generations I still go back to "housing theory of everything." As technological progress continues apace, so much of the things in our daily life, food, entertainment, power (from say solar) becomes cheaper and more accessible. Housing remains stubbornly expensive where people actually want to live.
And housing isn't a problem of wealth inequality, or billionaires, or whatever -- it's a simple supply and demand problem of not building enough. I really think the more housing can be built and the more the cost can be driven down, that solves SO many other downstream social problems....

Like a lot of stuff with Dune, it's ambiguous whether this is Frank Herbert saying "yes this is the way to live", or "this is a cautionary tale."
The Litany Against Fear is one of many Bene Gesserit practice designed to subsume and quell emotions. Keep in mind, the Bene Gesserits, like the Jedis, are supposed to be emotionless warriors. No fear, but no love, no family ties, etc. Their role, like Paul Atreides' in the saga of Dune is not necessarily to be "the good guys."
I keep going back to it, but the Green Lantern Corps is a similar thing -- the Green lantern power rings, dispatched from the "center of the universe" of Oa, seek out beings who can resist great fear and recruit them into the Gaurdians of the Universe.
However, because they reject all other emotions -- fear, anger, greed, but also compassion and love -- they basically turn into something that aspires not just to be a "police force", but the One Galactic Government.
Have we seen something similar happen to global society? That the Manosphere personal growth mantra of "self-mastery" becomes easily corrupted into "other mastery"?

The thing that's keeping you from walking up to a cop and punching them in the face, or dancing on the edge of a cliff -- that thing is "fear." Sure it needs to be tempered with rationality, but as human beings we've evolved certain fear responses in sitiuations that are important for our survival.
And like anger, greed, and all the other "negative" emotions -- it's good in *small* doses, but must be carefully managed to ensure that it doesn't dominate your life.

So I have my computer go to "dark" theme at sunset and "light" theme at sunrise, and my expectation is that Web pages set to "system" theme will do the same...
This works fine with stuff like Google Drive, as well as with Nosotros. Doesn't work with Nostria where I have to manually toggle it back and forth.

Bitcoin limits State action, which in turn limits the ability for people to own vast amounts of material wealth that isn't actually generating some kind of economic and/or social good.
This is the "billionaire bunker" fallacy -- billionaires might think that they can retreat to their New Zealand compounds when "the ahit hits the fan", but... What about their doctors? Their chefs? Their helicopter pilots? What about those people's families, and their kids, and their kids' schools, etc?
Eventually our "billionaire bunker" has to basically become a functional society again... Or hey, said billionaire could *instead* just work on preventing whatever collapse required the bunker to begin with.
Yes, once we get to a Bitcoin standard, there will be bad people with lots of Bitcoin. But without States I'm far less worried about those bad people having a negative impact on me.

Large-scale social change, when you're fighting network effects, is a hard thing... But it can work.
I see the same thing with the shift from suburban living to urbanism over the past ~20 years or so. Back in the 90's, urban downtowns were places you (maybe) visited in the Daylight hours to work, then quickly fled back to the suburbs at 5 pm. It's taken generational change, and there are still ongoing fights with NIMBYism, but millennials and younger generations have started to see the benefits of dense urban living.
Likewise, we're at a point in history where the internet has basically been "colonized" by The Platforms. Hopefully we don't need a "generational" timescale to change things, but it's going to be a gradual process....

Many consider Saylor's "Strategy" to be a speculative attack. Use BTC as collateral to drive up inflation, basically play off a deflating currency against an inflating currency...

For mass adoption of BTC spending for everyday purchases, one of three things needs to happen:
1. The Fiat system collapses, and with it tax enforcement
2. People buying things with BTC need to laboriously report *every single thing* they buy as a "capital gains event", thereby exposing *not only* their spending history but
*also* their BTC history to prove their basis..., or
3. People buying things with BTC need to lie on their taxes at that Big Checkmark that's like question 4 on the 1040
We all hope for # 1, for sure. But that's not here yet.
# 2 requires people to submit awfully personal information to the IRS.
And # 3 requires people to accept criminal liability.

To me the "smoking gun" of his story is the Test Flights. He knew when and where UFO's would appear over S4 specifically (not area 51, since S4 is on the other side of the mountain and they were looking from the South). This proves some kind of insider knowledge.
And yeah looking at his story in the context of what David Grusch is saying, the "program" or whatever it is, is essentially an illegal conspiracy operating within the government. It's not part of the "org chart," it's a group operating laterally across multiple unrelated SAP's to illegally misappropriate their budgets for this purpose, using "national security" and classification to block oversight.
Of course they don't want "reputable" scientists. They want smart people with sketchy pasts / behavior patterns, and Lazar fit perfectly.

Very few people are going to get replaced. At least, not permanently.
We're already seeing costs go up. Price per token will skyrocket once the bottom drops out.
I'm not convinced "this time it's different" more so than any other period of rapid industrialization in history, from the Spinning Jenny to Steam power to the microcomputer.
You're right to point out housing costs though -- these are stubbornly high due to NIMBYism, so AI doesn't "solve" that.

Listening now, really interesting...
What strikes me is something Vinay Gupta said a long time ago, which is that Bitcoin can't be divorced from a political ideology or philosophy.
The error I think is that a lot of "apolitical" people, who really were culturally aligned with the Right, got into to Bitcoin... Then were sort of "radicalized" by the events of the early 2020's into joining a political coalition with Trump.
And now they (hopefully) realize that they got played for Chumps.
This is I value libertarianism as a political compass: I know better than to align with either "side", because it always, always comes back to bite you in the ass.

There's a very disappointing way in which even the hardest "resistance" groups of the Left are still using Instagram and Whatsapp to communicate...
Particularly younger generations have grown up with these centralized, enshittified platforms to the point where they can't imagine even "radical" communication existing outside of them.
"Like" and "share" are just verbs to them like "eat" and "drink", there's no consideration of the backend infrastructure that controls all of this.

TBH... not a big fan of this. For one, we shouldn't shy away from the fact that it's Bitcoin... "Normies" are just going to be shocked and revulsed that they were "tricked" into using "Trump money."
And second, this is 100% going to bite him in the butt once the Google Play Gods get wind of it...

Yes ... AI doesn't change anything fundamental about "know your source".
The task of journalism requires a clear chain of custody of information. Good journalism has been doing this for 100+ years. WoT and attestation can fundamentally supercharge these processes.
