Long break so went for lunch with the BFF who was a complete gentleman about how much bruschetta I managed to get down my jumper and didn't mock at all...
My cunning plan to simply remove my jumper was thwarted when I realised the t-shirt underneath has coffee down it already.
I'm a classy lady.

2026-07-06 09:52:59 UTC

Bella was denied a bite of my dinner due to onions and then AND THEN denied a biscuit due to chocolate.
I'm being stared at with a certain level of disappointment.

How long do you reckon I can resist this pattern for?

Discussing the NDIS cuts with a friend.
She needed new tyres on her chair, and ended up just paying out of pocket for them because to go through the approved NDIS provider was going to be ages, and also cost 5 times the price the local bike shop charges.
The local bike shop is not an approved NDIS provider and therefore she can't use her NDIS funds with them.
There's your cost blow outs, not kids with autism.

I have a lot of little bites on my arms from I don't know what but meh, all fine. Showed the BFF:
Me: "Look at all my little bites!"
BFF: "Well you will let Bella in the bed"
Me: "How dare you, she's clean"
BFF: "Then what's biting you?"
ME: "I dunno, other bugs. Beetles. There were a lot of ants in the bed the other night"
BFF: "...why were there ants in your bed?"
Me: "I didn't ask"
BFF: "Jesus Christ"

Arvo Tiny Dancers.
Coffee at Mary's with the BFF, and then a long chat with the Bushman who is the poster boy for Drug Fuckedness, but harmless. He was telling me what shape Mum makes in the wind, because he's pretty sure she's watching over him. Probably is.
Home to do some cleaning, washing etc before I settle down with the frog. Brother just arrived and I hadn't got to the dishes, bugger.

"Vetinry?" Yes. In this house we watched a lot of "All Creatures Great and Small" and it stuck.

2026-04-20 02:14:03 UTC

Arvo Tiny Dancers. Been out and about this morning, with Dog.
She had to see the vetinry due to allergies (you can see her snout is swollen) so she came to Mary's for coffee with the BFF first.
She's not good with men she doesn't know very well, but the BFF knows where the good scritch spots are, so she was pawing him for more attention.
Then vet, then she decided we'd have a stroll around town where she was very brave (she's not good at noisy places).
The thing about Bella is when you put her in the car she goes straight for the driver's seat, but she doesn't even have a learner's permit.
Gotta go out again in a minute, forgot to stock up on Dad's biscuits.

Good Morning Tiny Dancers.
Later work start today so I went to the Post Office Cafe which isn't called that any more and hasn't been for years but whatever.
I was there partly to have coffee and partly because Rosy and Sienna from Mary's are working there now and were like "Please come and seeeee ussssss" so obviously yes, they're spectacular humans.
Frosty morning, the paddocks looked so shiny white.

Anyway he sleeps on her bed now, took less than a week.

2026-04-15 02:39:09 UTC

Arvo Tiny Dancers.
Was much longer getting coffee than planned due to Chats with Everyone.
Did the rounds of the shops, madness down town today, half the district appears to be wandering about.
Was chatting to a lady at Mary's who had her dog with her and was getting it to do tricks.
I said "Oh my dog does a good trick at 3am where she licks my face until I lift up the blanket for her"
Horrified reply was: "Well WE do PACK ORDER so Daisy sleeps ON THE FLOOR"
I said "Cool, Bella sleeps where ever she wants to"
Conversation was aborted by the other party 🤣

I have been bleak about the loss of the big buddleia, it's a bit of a stab every time I walk outside and see the gap where it was.
However! The wonderful @npub1emv…wnhu suggested cuttings. I thought I might be too late as it was all droopy on the bonfire pile, but it's perked up in some water and I'll pot it out and see how we go.
Mum always let it run riot (with some pruning so the path was still a path) because of the huge amount of butterflies and birds and all sorts it brought into the garden, and while I can easily buy a new buddleia, and I'm not overly sentimental about stuff and things, I didn't want to lose this big one.

Spot of shopping, coffee, bit more shopping. Some nice chats with people. Ah, feeling more human.
Now home. Feeling less human, but I did buy a very fancy smelly candle when I went into the gift shop to tell the owner her new shop down the road is looking fabulous.

I'm partly enjoying it. It's non fiction, about their time on a Greek Island in the 1950s. Some of it is a bit flowery wordy but it's fascinating to see the culture of the island.
I'll post it up when I'm finished if you like.

I am currently in the middle of "Mermaid Singing".
I didn't know she'd suicided, saw the note and thought "Gosh she died young" and then rabbit holed.
Was one of Mum's favourite books so I thought I'd have a read before I pass it on to the little library.

I did the dishes, btw. They are done. From now on, no one in this house may eat OR drink.

Today's card is going to China, to someone who wants cute images to decorate her baby's room.
