The bsky screenshots all have the date and time removed. They can be in dark or light mode.
The lack of alt text is a feature, luring us into giving rage bait posts more traffic on the Fediverse. Every one of them has at least one reply about the lack of alt text.
Probably an intern is putting more work into making these posts less accessible. On purpose.

Unfashionable take, but I really liked G+ (in the early days, before the mandatory YouTube disaster).
I got in as part of the first wave of general public users, courtesy of an invite from a friend who worked for Google.
Woz was on it, and I found a lot of interesting music there (that wasn't being pushed anywhere else).
It (unsurprisingly) went to shit after they added the mandatory requirement to have a G+ account to add comments on YouTube videos.

I recently saw a traffic spike to a small HTML-only website that never had WP on it, but was suddenly getting failed wp-admin logins and hundreds of PHP vuln scans, non stop. All from MSFT IP addresses. Abuse reports were sent, but there was no response, and the abuse kept happening.
So now I'm blocking every MSFT CIDR block that I can find, server-wide.

I used FediFinder in late 2022 against my Twitter account, after about a week discussing it. That depended on enough of my mutuals also using it.
The .ie instance was a clear winner, followed by lockpicking .exchange and pipebomb .kolektiv :-)

I know that it's part of the problem, and that by continuing to use it I'm part of the problem, but I mostly use it in "couch potato" mode on a smart TV.
Not on a computer = not 'work'.
I have to flash a replacement OS onto the smart TV soon, though, as certain apps aren't being updated for it.
Then I'll have it just as easy with all the alternatives.

WHRB (Harvard's radio station) is mostly Jazz and Classical. The overnight schedule includes 7 hours of The Record Hospital. It's billed as a Rock show, but it usually gets into some experimental stuff.
As it's in Boston, there is a good local scene to draw from.

There was a trend in the early 2000s where startups were seeing that their first 5 choices of name already had the .com domain registered by someone else, so they would pay a lot of money to a branding consultancy to come up with an original name like Smurtreo. Instead of making lowball offers to all the .com domain holders in the hope that one of them would counter with a reasonable offer.
