BIP-110 is one example but there are many use cases for using custom images, like when you build your own from scratch. By default OrangeLab runs standard version of Knots (or Core), not the custom one.
One might argue that promoting protocol change to increase OPRETURN from storing hashes to storing data is shitforking 😉
Node runners have an incentive to keep things light on resources, both storage and bandwidth. It's a matter of negotiating how far the validation rules should go. In the end it's up to node operators to decide what a valid block is. You're welcome to run any image and version, I'm just making it easier to do regardless of what you decide.

It's funny watching the OpenClaw debacle. In security circles it's considered crash and burn within 48h but the rest of the world, including Nostr didn't get the memo. I guess people will always choose new shiny toys and convenience over everything else. Any information and actions the AI has access to without human approval have to considered compromised.

Would be good to update https://bip110.org/howto/ docker section (not sure which repo it is) to use updated image. Sha256 is not required to get it running but more secure. Docker tags are mutable and it will return 404 when hash doesn't match

That is awesome! Just imported my Instagram account dating back to 2020. I guess I can remove that 1GB Instagram data export file I kept just in case 😁
Sorry Primal for uploading that much, now I wonder how to import the photos into my relay once I get it running (Blossom?).
BTW some issues I noticed @nprofile…wszm :
When uploading 2 reels I saw 5 connections downloading through proxy-video, it worked fine in the end but some possible performance improvements here.
Also when uploading 70 posts, all of them failed saying "Failed to publish to any relay"...but it actually worked fine, so I guess error handling needs some work.

Another thing that works well is set permissions to "ask" on each file modification so you can stop and tell it to it differently. After task is done, check all files a and tweak before committing.

You're right, it does allow selecting text, there is something off. I usually long-press to select a word and then adjust the start and end pins but what happens is only "Autofill" appears and nothing happens. It does copy however when double pressing or long-press and move.
Just using the standard GrapheneOS keyboard, any other OSS recommendations?

That is so cool! Just managed to set it up and even got the agent to create SSH key so it could download repo. What would be really helpful is copy/paste as I had to tell it to save the public key in /mnt/shared/Download so it could be added to GitHub.
Now if we can get Whisper setup for speech recognition that would be something

Works much better if you give it small tasks and adjust AGENTS.md after each session so it knows what conventions to follow. Treat it like a coding pair and correct it as it goes. Good prompting and consistent conventions go a long way.

Hmmm...OK I'll give it a try then. I had issues after switching to Graphene with errors logging in, like my password was wrong. Called CashApp customer service and was told its because of using non-standard Android.

Reason? "We're not required to give you a reason".
Was it the questions about digital currencies? Or giving a Proton alias instead of real email because I don't like my data being abused by your marketing department?
I'll never know because apparently it's now legal for banks to discriminate for any reason.
BTW there are quite a few companies creating user ratings of all sorts and it's already used by banks so this whole " social credit score" from China is already implemented worldwide. Don't worry, you'll be fine as long as you do what you're told...

Every accommodation in Europe asks me for ID, date of birth and address. Some go as far as taking photo of both sides of my ID with their phone.

https://n8n.io/ is a really cool way to create workflows using your private AI agents.
Would be even better if someone added native integration for Nostr (triggers for input, notifications for output and maybe relay queries as well).
Not usually a fan of low-code platforms but with LLMs this might actually work in a lot of cases.
Because the scope of work is limited this a great use case for open-source models. No need to send your private data anywhere or pay for each query.
BTW you can use N8N with @nprofile…qc4p by setting `n8n:enabled` to `true`. This will set up storage, provision PostgreSQL cluster and deploy the app at http://n8n/

As far as I understand even the core connection in Sparrow requires the wallet functionality to be enabled in the server so wouldn't consider that recommended approach. Electrum is the way to go

You mentioned Knots does not support connecting Sparrow to it. Not really a big deal since the wallet functionality is there more for historical reasons and its best to disable it anyway and use Electrum server to connect wallets.

Time to earn that @nprofile…yzve name! Just added Bitcoin module with support for running Bitcoin full node and Electrum server to connect your wallets privately. You can also switch between Core and Knots implementations at any point while using same underlying storage.

Photos from recent trip to Morocco.
Initially I just planned to escape the European winter and check out @outsiteco place at Marrakech.
But then I found @wheelsofmorocco so the plan pivoted rather quickly to motorcycle riding the following week 😎
It's the best way to see the country! Each day we saw so much more than if travelling by bus.
Turned out it's Ramadan, a month of fasting for Muslims which for us meant less traffic, late dinners and no beer...supposedly 😏
Fasting sounds like a great idea, but then if you live there and are seen eating in public during the day - you can go to jail, which is exactly the kind of BS I'd expect from a government.
Nevertheless, great country to visit particularly for the architecture, culture, food (chicken tagine, big fan! not that we could get much more at that time) and a solid Arrakis experience out in the desert.
Fascinating country with amazing open spaces and surprisingly good twisty roads in the Atlas mountains. It does get cold up there!

Simplify setting up your private distributed infrastructure using @nprofile…fmf8, Pulumi, K3s and Longhorn.
The cluster works even on a single laptop node but it's a great way to use spare CPU cycles and storage on other Linux machines you have available.
Once initial setup is done, you can run Ollama, Open-WebUI and stable diffusion image generation with:

pulumi config set orangelab:ollama true
pulumi config set orangelab:open-webui true
pulumi config set orangelab:automatic1111 true
pulumi up
This will create endpoints that anyone on your Tailnet can access, all wired up and ready to go.

Photos from El Salvador, the first Bitcoin country.
Things changed a lot here in the last few years. It felt safe and the paved roads were better then I expected, except a few that had the wrong classification on maps. Off road can get rough here, especially when it rains.
Bitcoin Lightning wallets work pretty good. You need to be online but after scanning the QR code the confirmation usually comes in 1-3 seconds. Transaction costs in the order of 1 cent.
Small businesses are generally fine accepting BTC but you still need petrodollar or card to get gas for example.
Paid with sats for accommodation (@el_xalli), motorcycle rental (30.000 sats, ~$20 per day), food etc.
It felt weird spending and not HODLing 😉 and it will get even weirder when I have to report all of this on tax return in another country. Things would be so much easier if the rest of the world would treat it as currency as well...

Photos from recent stay in Colombia. Medellin has so many cool restaurants and rooftop bars. Riding around the country and all the off road routes was spectacular, I'll definitely be back at some point.
Riding through Medellin was...interesting, particularly through the neighborhoods I should apparently not be riding at all 😉 Well hey, at least I made a lot people smile haha (wtf is this gringo doing in our hood? 😅). Some of the streets were crazy steep, I had to lie down on the bike as the front wheel was going up.

Made it all the way from Ensenada to Los Cabos!
1500 km of roads I'd usually avoid, following Baja 1000 rally route.
I really had no idea what I'm getting into 😂
Having only some off road adventure bike experience but no dirt bikes, this was way out of my comfort zone for the first few days.
It's like booking 7 day workout session with the Rock when all you do is 50 pushups in the morning 😆
I'm so beat up it will take a while to recover before I can ride again.
Third day the conditions were so bad I thought I'm just going to give up and overnight in the desert. After multiple bike drops we had to cut the day short.
From what I hear it's not uncommon for just 50% of riders making it till the end so I had to learn really fast...and recover from previous day even faster.
For people that DO have some dirt bike experience, I can't recommend this enough - amazing views and new type of track every day. @chrishainestours did a great job organizing this.

That was a nice little gem in the desert, Rhyolite ghost town in Nevada, just north of Death Valley.
There is an open air gallery and some abandoned buildings. Used to be some sort of mining operation.
The glass house was interesting, the walls made of glass bottles which are said to be good isolation from hot and cold but also much cheaper then wood...there is not a lot of it in the area.
The crashed plane was a few miles north, no idea what's that even about 😂

It was pretty hot during the day even though it's the cold season here. Must be pretty unbearable during the summer.

That was a great way to escape Texas winter storm...right into San Juan festival of Latino music. That was enough Salsa for a year 😁
Unfortunately the Arecibo observatory, or rather what remains of it, is permanently closed. Still a good excuse to ride all the way up there and back.

Last set of photos from Madeira. It's from around Pico do Arieiro.
Challenging walk if you want to do the whole thing, about 6km one way. You go down a mountain and then up another one through dark tunnels, cliffs, ladders and all.
Even seen some people running...twice. Respect 💪 I could barely feel my legs at the end.
Definitely stay for sunset, above the clouds it's quite a view!

Madeira is a good getaway from European winter. It's warm during the day but there is a lot of fog and rain at higher altitudes. Makes for great rainbows when driving up and down 🙂 Watch out for lost cows, shit gets spooky in the foggy highlands...
Got a few sunny days but there is much more to see. One could pretty much hike a different trail every weekend of the year!
In summer weather is more predictable but there are more people visiting.
Should not be a problem with a bike, especially when the car parking rules seem to be to park wherever as long as the car doesn't block the road, inside old tunnels is fine too...
The photos are from north side of the island. Some sharp turns on the way there, maybe it's better I couldn't see farther than 30m with all the cliffs 😅 Definitely have to come back in summer.
Note on driving on highways, there is no space to add extra lanes so don't be surprised with the short exits and entry lanes. Luckily the drivers here are generally good at reading the road.

Madeira just made it to my favorite places in the world 👌I could totally retire here, if that's ever a thing.
Very few straight roads, it's mostly twisties everywhere!
The infrastructure is amazing, great roads, plenty of tunnels and bridges with amazing views. Lot of places to stop and enjoy the view, all free off course.
The best thing is you can just focus on the road instead of keeping the speed under artificially lowered limits meant for revenue generation. The speed signs are actually useful here.
Yep, no speed traps, no police hiding around a corner, there are only some general cameras in cities but always clearly marked.
Makes me think the maturity of society these days is inversely proportional to amount of cameras spying on you...
If you want breakfast at 9am...well tough luck because the kitchens don't open until 11am or so. The locals are hanging out at the gas station coffee shop that's open earlier and just chatting and smoking cigarettes before going to work.
Love their attitude, they got the priorities right 👍

Photos from today's ride, plus a few others from Nicaragua.
Rode close to the border with Costa Rica...you could tell by the occasional military trucks.
The guy with a semiautomatic at the checkpoint took some convincing that I won't try to cross the border and seemed surprised that I want to ride there at all.
The road was increasingly muddy with some river crossings. The one on the photo was not the biggest one I crossed!
The more north I rode, the more I started questioning my life choices 😆
The good thing is jaguars and pumas don't live in this part of Nicaragua but the sounds of howler monkeys freaked me out a few times.
Getting back on sealed road was such a relief...

It was too dark to take good quality photos with a phone, but watching the Masaya volcano at night was one of the most impressive things I've seen. You could feel the warmth coming out of it.
Too bad the high point lookout was closed.

Went to Ometepe Island on the weekend. It's a lake with two volcanoes. You can hike to the top but it's pretty steep and takes about 8 hours...so we opted for coconut drinks in a pool instead 😋
Riding in the back of a truck is so fun!

Ride to Sequoia National Park over the long weekend.
I took the road through Red Rocks State Park.
Temperatures kept rising towards Death Valley. That would be better for a winter adventure.
It got up to 44C. Motor starter did its job the 5th time I tried so that was a great outcome for not getting stuck in the desert.
Sequoia trees are huge and the interesting thing is they need forest fires to germinate.
It was very busy that weekend so parking was difficult. Most people just take a bus to drive around. It was so hot the bike stand was few centimeters in the asphalt after 30 min walk 😅
Driving back was a challenge! Tight turns and nowhere to overtake. Riding that slow in this heat was a nightmare, I was wondering how long till I pass out.
Well it did kill the bike eventually and it started overheating. The last 50 miles took a while with all the breaks needed.
In the end the rental company wasn't able to fix it so I got a new one. More aggressive riding position but this thing was moving forward! 🏍️

Spent the last two weeks in Hollywood Hills.
You definitely need some transport around here. Not a very walkable area but easy to get to some great twisty roads while avoiding Los Angeles traffic.
Mulholland Drive was about 15 mins away and Angeles National Forest less than an hour.
Riding in California feels amazing as most drivers give you space to filter through...or even smash it in between cars at speed - yes, lane splitting is perfectly legal here. Good to have this option so you can easily distance yourself from other cars.
The house at @outsiteco was great! Huge living space and working area with pool and jacuzzi available after work. Hollywood style! 😁
I rented the red Ducati for my stay here but then had to switch to Suzuki...that's a story for another post.

Last day riding from Mount Everest base camp to Kathmandu.
The Tibet side was so cold I could barely feel my fingers for about 50km. Once we got to the border with Nepal it was so much warmer we could finally take off the thermal layers.
The roads became so much worse though. It was the same route we rode to Tibet but this time with more water as it was raining the day before.
I found it much easier this time with all the practice.
Still managed to drop the bike on the last day! 😭
Hardly a road, just rocks sticking out so I was standing on the pegs to maintain balance.
Then, when coming down a truck appeared on a turn so I instinctively squeezed front brake...very bad idea when off road riding.
The front wheel locked and got stuck between the rocks.
The protective layers definitely worked but mostly I was happy about the handlebars protectors. Without them my left hand would be in a very bad state even with the gloves.
Once I dropped it I realized my paniers were gone! It was so bumpy that I lost them few hundred meters earlier. Luckily another rider found them and put them on his bike 😅
We managed to get to our hotel before sunset, which was great as I can't imagine riding through the mountains with the crazy thunderstorms in the evening. That would not be fun...at all.

Made it to north base camp of Mount Everest!
Photos don't do it justice. It blows my mind how people try to climb this thing. Even at the camp at 5200m it was exhausting to just climb stairs.
People walking around with oxygen tanks instead of backpacks.
Just to give you a better picture of how challenging getting here was...we had two riders dropping out the day before.
One with altitude sickness, after feeling dizzy and throwing up all night, had to be put on oxygen and driven to lower altitude.
Another had a collision with oncoming car. Broken collarbone and two ribs but he was lucky and will recover just fine.
There has been so many cars driving on wrong lane you just have to assume that. Not even when overtaking...just because.
You'd think it's sensible to give priority to more exposed vehicle but here if you ride a motorcycle and not a car it means you are poor and can't afford it so your life is less valuable. Particularly the fancy cars breaking the rules as they feel more important. I guess that's how the world works unfortunately but I've never seen that being so explicit.
Anyway, most of us made it and it's been quite a highlight!

Time to catch up with the stories, I've been too busy having fun!
Riding from Shigatse to Mount Everest base camp and Rongbuk Monastery.
Endless switchbacks, over 100 of them with some amazing views.
Some of the turns were pretty tight and with gravel bits here and there. Almost dropped the bike on one 😅
I was overtaking a car and went a bit hot on a turn, the gravel surprised me and lost traction on both tires for a fraction of a second. Luckily got out of turn and just touched the road with my leg. That was close!

Riding back to Shigatse but a different and longer route via Yamdrok lake and Karola glacier.
Not as cold as last few days but it was windy and snowing a bit when coming down from the mountain top.

Rest day at Lhasa visiting Potala Palace.
At 3700 meters altitude it's quite an exhausting hike to the top.
Most of it was built in 17th century but the beginnings were built in 7th century around Songtsen Gampo's (Tibetan king) meditation cave.
There are over 1000 rooms with walls 3m thick on average.
It was the winter home of the Dalai Lamas from 1649 to 1959. They used to be consulted on all political matters.
Pictures inside were not allowed but there are plenty of gold statues, apparently over 200.000 of them. Tibetan people would just bring gold to the monastery as Tibet was very rich in resources.
Interesting fact - Dalai Lama means "ocean of wisdom" in Tibetan.
Also, monkeys are considered our ancestors.
Tibetan history goes way back.

Quite a warm day, maybe except the first hour.
Beautiful scenic road to Lhasa, unfortunately not many good spots to stop and take photos.
Almost had a close encounter with an oncoming bus, who happened to overtake on a blind turn.
That certainly woke me up.
Luckily the main rule around here is "pay attention!" so all traffic came to stop, horns were used abundantly and everyone went their way.
Another rule is if there is an accident, it's the foreigner's fault 😅
Even when something like this happens, I like riding here.
Generally rules are followed pretty loosely, quite a contrast to the Western world where we use them almost religiously to give us imaginary sense of safety and as a side effect cause us to not to pay attention to what's happening around us.

We started the ride at 9:30 when it warmed up to 0 degrees. An hour later we were at over 5200 meters altitude and it was freezing! The cold wind made it so much worse.
The streams were partially frozen so it must have been well below 0 degrees.
We found some community living at the mountain pass. No idea how they manage to survive there.
We rode a big part though some road works and it was mental! Ask me to tell you some stories about it 😂
At Xigatse had dinner with yak dumplings. They love spicy food around here. I literally cried (not from the dumplings).
Tomorrow we head east to Lhasa.

Started the ride at a refreshing 5 degree Celsius.
Two hours later we were at a mountain pass over 5200 meters altitude with high winds.
No idea what the temperature was but there was snow on the side of the roads and after few hours I could barely feel my fingertips.
The phone battery just gave up, it's like it was charging in reverse and then just turned off.
Electric vehicles have no chance here with the current technology.
No more summer gloves for the rest of the trip, that's for sure.
Luckily there was hot shower and meal 😅
It will be -4 at sunrise tomorrow so it's time to gear up!

Spent five hours waiting at the border crossing and finally entered Tibet. Definitely getting colder now that we are at 2700 meters above sea level.
Entering China is an intense process but we made it so the biggest unknown is behind us.
I'm wondering how I'll deal with the cold and altitude. We were required to take altitude sickness tablets for the last few days to prepare for tomorrow's ride. Apparently it's no joke on the Tibetan plateau.

Leaving Kathmandu towards the border with Tibet.
130 km of the worst roads I've ever ridden on a motorcycle! Some sections barely qualify as a road really. Luckily we made it just before it started raining.
The fun thing is we need to go back the same way so if it rains I have no idea how we're going to make it back. Oh well, we'll worry about it later...

Cable car to Chadragiri (moon mountain).
The quietest place in Kathmandu so far.
Pretty hazy today so the visibility wasn't great.

After 24 hours in the air I finally arrived in Kathmandu. We had to circle the airport for 20 minutes because air control tower...was "unavailable". Sounds like controller didn't wake up on time 😂
Loving the chaos of this place. Riding here will be so much fun. You don't really need turn signals, but definitely need the horn and a lot of focus!
Fun fact - Nepal was a monarchy until 2008
