"content": "Madeira is a good getaway from European winter. It's warm during the day but there is a lot of fog and rain at higher altitudes. Makes for great rainbows when driving up and down 🙂 Watch out for lost cows, shit gets spooky in the foggy highlands...\nGot a few sunny days but there is much more to see. One could pretty much hike a different trail every weekend of the year!\n\nIn summer weather is more predictable but there are more people visiting.\nShould not be a problem with a bike, especially when the car parking rules seem to be to park wherever as long as the car doesn't block the road, inside old tunnels is fine too...\n\nThe photos are from north side of the island. Some sharp turns on the way there, maybe it's better I couldn't see farther than 30m with all the cliffs 😅 Definitely have to come back in summer.\n\nNote on driving on highways, there is no space to add extra lanes so don't be surprised with the short exits and entry lanes.
