Ok... I think you are a couple of bricks short of having a full wall here.

Rocky and Alma are based on RHEL, not Fedora. Both RHEL and Fedora (as well as Centos) are part of the IBM conglomerate. Rocky did have *major* issues in the beginning because of IBM's purchase of RedHat and its subsequent changes of licenses and access models.

We went through several panels with Rocky and in the end they were NOT selected as a CentOS successor. openSUSE was.
