I agree on the binaries. But instead of dismissing very potent technical choices, I'd rather advocate for compiling in Europe. In the case of Fedora, the build infrastructure is open source and both RockyLinux and AlmaLinux proved that compiling from upstream Fedora is doable.

Same should be done for any free software that gets used systematically and at scale in critical sectors. It would be no different for opensuse.
