By that logic there are microplastics in your body already. In your tea, in anything that comes out of the ground. Eating herbs like cilantro leech heavy metals and microplastics out of your body - many others.
The alternative is to find a way out, microgreens on a window sill, regularly harvested herb plants, aquaponics for those foods that allow it in empty milk cartons, community garden patches, etc..
The solution is not to find more problems, it's to find more solutions and disengage from the system as best one can anyway.

Germans hardly even take lunch breaks or chit-chat their coworkers, and they work crazy overtime. And you have to be slightly-early to every meeting.
The public consensus, at the time, was to let them all in, unabated. I nearly lost my job and became a complete social pariah, at the time, for suggesting that open borders was a bad idea. I thought it was nuts. They thought I was nuts.
And this, in one of the most right-wing regions of the EU. Absolutely _no one_ I knew thought it would cause any significant problems. No one.
They all also argued with me, that it was just this one group of refugees and then the flow would stop. They saw it as a temporary problem, not a permanent change to their demography. They also thought that they could examine each migrant and send any back, that they don't like, but that didn't happen.
It took years and years for the general public to change it's mind, and many still want open borders. The pace of legislative changes has been marching in lockstep with public opinion. Blaming this on Brussels doesn't make sense. National governments determine what Brussels says.
That is why the migrant crisis in the UK actually got _worse_ after Brexit, instead of better. The EU wasn't the cause of the crisis, so escaping it wasn't the solution.

Am Ende wird nur ein Bruchteil abgebaut mit Entlassungen (inklusive hoher Abfindungen), ein Teil durch bezahlte Frührente, ein paar durch Streichung leerer Stellen und das Nichtersetzen nach Ausscheidung oder während Elternzeit, und der Großteil wird gedeckt von der ganzen Belegschaft, durch weniger Wochenarbeitsstunden.
Das ist kurz- und mittelfristig sozialverträglicher, aber es bedeutet stetig sinkende Durchschnittsarbeitsstunden. Es wird am Ende genauso viel gearbeitet, aber diese Arbeit erfolgt zunehmend ohne Buchung und ohne statistischen Nachweis. Die Deutschen arbeiten jetzt schwarz, für 0 €/Stunde.
Und, zudem, hat Deutschland eine der höchsten Erwerbstätigenquoten in der Welt, und in der EU. Wir haben so viele Frauen, Migranten (ja, sogar die Mehrheit der Asylanten ist inzwischen erwerbstätig), Rentner, Behinderte, Studenten, Auszubildende etc. in Arbeit gebracht – Gruppen also, die tendenziell in Teilzeit arbeiten –, dass es so aussieht, als ob der typische Vollzeitbeschäftigte hier weniger arbeitet, als woanders. Wir arbeiten aber mehr, und haben eine längere Lebensarbeitszeit. Zudem ist unsere Produktivität ungewöhnlich hoch, also produzieren wir mehr, bei gleicher Arbeitszeit.
Dieses ganze Geschwätz geht mir auf den Keks.
Deutschland war noch nie so fleißig. Deutschland war noch nie so produktiv. Höre auf, die Arbeiter und die Angestellten zu beschimpfen, und erhöhe endlich den Grundfreibetrag bei der Einkommensteuer! Dann sind wir vielleicht mehr motiviert, noch mehr zu arbeiten.

The building standing at one end of Schützenmattpark was designed at the beginning of the 20th century to house a police station. Today it has been converted into a sort of children's daycare, I suppose, but the “Polizeiposten” carved in large letters on the façade is still there.

We're all religious, as well. That probably also makes a big difference. And we all have children living with us or near us, so we now have the younger generation bringing income home and helping us.
Healthy families are little, robust societies. They don't necessarily end up wealthy, but being buffered from external economic shocks means that we're less-likely to end up very poor and more-likely to steadily acquire property and savings and personal connections.
It's a multi-generational system, where the positive effects slowly accumulate, but evolution proves that the effect is real.

President Meloni, of #Italy 🇮🇹 has been integral in formulating these new rules, and pushing the boundaries of the current legal structure. She has emerged as the strongest and most effective national leader on the right, as opposed to the disliked Macron and the floundering Merz.
That hasn't prevented her from being insulted by Trump and his vile Russian friends, but it does mean that the EU has a real chance at turning the tide on mass-asylum. Hungary's election of a managed-migration politician, that isn't anti-EU, should also push the legislation toward a more conservative framework.

I was hoping Catholicism would moderate political views, but Republican Catholics seem to be trending more Republican, than Catholic.
