The "easiest" setup for Lightning on Nostr would be to use the clients with integrated wallets, like Primal and Wisp, which do so using Spark.
Moving down the list from there would be custodial Lightning wallet providers that have Nostr Wallet Connect integration. This just requires a brief wallet setup and then copy/pasting a NWC connection string into the user's chosen client. This is probably the method supported by the widest variety of Nostr clients these days. Users can opt to use providers like Coinos, Rizful, or MiniBits, or Npub.cash.
Zeus is a bit of a hybrid. It starts out as custodial using ecash for new users who don't yet have enough sats to justify opening a Lightning channel, but it provides a Lightning address for receiving zaps. In my testing, it can be connected to Nostr clients for sending zaps using Nostr Wallet Connect, but this doesn't seem to work with the ecash balance, only once the user has set up a Lightning channel and have a balance available. That being the case, I would recommend one of the above options until they are ready to take on self-custody.

The US Government just upgraded AI from consumer product to weapons grade technology.
Washington is treating frontier AI the way it treated aerospace in the 1950s and semiconductors in the 1980s. Industrial policy, not consumer hype. The Pentagon budget is roughly $850 billion a year. If even a small slice redirects to AI compute, training, and integration, it reshapes the talent pipeline, the chip supply, and the export control regime. The same engineers fine tuning chat models are now fine tuning targeting systems. Consumer AI doesn't disappear, but it stops being the priority. The state has decided what AI is for, and the funding follows.
The second move is the one that tangles the web. Reports this week suggest Washington is moving toward taking equity stakes in the frontier AI labs. Forced or voluntary, the result is the same. The state becomes the customer, the funder, the regulator, and now a co owner of the most strategic industry of the decade. The FTC stops being a neutral referee when it has a financial interest in the outcome. The export controls stop being trade policy when the same government is selling the chips it's restricting. The product roadmap stops being a private decision when federal procurement is the biggest line item on the income statement.
This is the same pattern the US ran on railroads, airlines, and banks. Back the winners, then negotiate the cut. The only counter that does not run through Washington at every layer is decentralised infrastructure. Bittensor, the open source network for permissionless AI compute, is the canonical bet. It exists, it has real capital, and it is still small. Like most decentralised things, it lives at the edges. The question is whether the edges scale fast enough to matter before the centralised stack finishes consolidating.

Just spent a few days in Germany 🇩🇪 and came away much more concerned than optimistic.
• City centers feel noticeably less safe, especially with young kids. More visible drug addiction, homelessness and neglected public spaces.
• Very little economic dynamism. People seem frustrated, pessimistic and exhausted.
• Outdated regulations remain untouched. Uber drivers must return to their base after every ride. On Sundays, even basic shopping is heavily restricted.
• Public debt keeps rising, yet there is barely any serious discussion about structural reform, competitiveness or how Germany will thrive in the next decade.
Germany still has great talent, engineering and industrial know-how. ✅
But it increasingly feels like a country managing decline instead of building a bright future. 📉
