yeah, but there's a very fine line between cunning and smart, and scrupulous can allow a margin of "earned" opportunity in the right kind of mind. looks scrupulous, plays everything so it looks straight, but backs away slowly and everyone thinks it's "mArKeT fOrCeS" when he pulls away the prop slowly.

No worries! Let me know when you’re ready. 👍
I cashed out near the last top and put 100k towards paying down the mortgage, but then Bitcoin tanked 50% and she doesn't think it's a safe/smart way to save. Too risky.
In general she sees investing as something only millionaires do and we're not those people we're working class cash in a savings account people. I can't convince her otherwise.

Obligatory shop update.
Day 21 of constant work and I'm starting to feel it. Got through most of the early backlog, so now facing the more recent backlog. Orders are still processed on a first in first out basis, so new orders still have a bit of lead time.
Waveshare LCD are currently on backorder, Pi Zeros have been restocked and a few units of @npub17ty…3mgl Plus and Entropia are back on the menu.
Briefly ran out of solder wire because I used up three spools in two weeks, go figure.
I'll allow myself a break and a beer (or many) tonight, so please, ffs, no new vulnerabilities right now. K, thanks, bye.
A data centre doesn't get to "control Monero" simply by having lots of servers. It needs to control more RandomX hashing power than everyone else combined, and maintaining that advantage continuously is expensive.
Also, a 51% attack cannot simply steal coins from arbitrary Monero addresses or manufacture valid signatures. The attacker is primarily gaining control over the PoW chain history, not breaking Monero's cryptography. RandomX's design deliberately makes the usual "buy/build a warehouse of specialised ASICs and dominate the network" strategy much less attractive than it is for Bitcoin.
I've asked Beethoven to run the numbers quickly - QUOTE:
Current Monero network hashrate is roughly 5.8 GH/s.
So a 51% attacker needs approximately:
≈ 3.0 GH/s of RandomX
And modern server CPUs are surprisingly capable. XMRig's current benchmarks show, for example:
* EPYC 9654, 96 cores: ~185 kH/s
* EPYC 9755, 128 cores: ~236 kH/s
* EPYC 9B45, 128 cores: ~249 kH/s
What does 3 GH/s look like?
Using ~200 kH/s per high-end 96–128-core EPYC:
3,000,000 kH/s ÷ 200 kH/s ≈ 15,000 CPUs (150-300 server racks)
But there's an important twist.
RandomX v2 was specifically designed to make this kind of attack expensive in electricity, and the latest RandomX testing shows substantial efficiency improvements on CPUs.
The really interesting number, suppose you built a dedicated attack facility with:
15,000 × EPYC-class CPUs
At, say, 300 W per CPU under sustained mining load, that's: 4.5 MW just for the CPUs. Add memory, motherboards, networking, cooling, PSUs, etc., and you're probably looking at something like 6–10 MW of facility power. At €0.10/kWh: €14,400–€24,000/day in electricity.
A conventional AI/HPC data centre could potentially have enough raw CPU capacity to do it.
The question isn't "Can a data centre produce 3 GH/s?". It absolutely can.
The question is how much of that CPU capacity you can actually commandeer, how efficiently it can run RandomX, and whether the economics make sense compared with simply mining XMR honestly, it doesn't.
- END QUOTE
So yes, it's possible but insanely expensive and you'll have to dedicate an entire facility to this.

📰 **What Happened This Week In The Nostr World**
✍️ by NM team
The W3C Nostr Community Group just published did:nostr v0.1.0 as an official draft report—with over 30 implementations already in the wild. But here’s what nobody’s telling you: while everyone’s watching centralized platforms stumble, the protocol quietly dropped four major NIP updates in five days, including an end-to-end encryption scheme that could change everything. Keep reading—because the window to understand what’s actually happening is closing faster than you think.

oh, it can't be a run and gun tho. to make the whole thing run smooth without anyone twigging it has to look legitimate enough. it will be mostly legitimate but it's still exploiting information asymmetry

Did you already know about the realtime biding-system? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_bidding)
It is a fast market, where every time google or other ad-markets get the opportunity to display an ad on my screen, a auction for this space takes place. All participants get specific information, about who you are, so the bidders have information on why they should pay to serve you their ad.
The information shared with all bidders is so detailed, it can often be attached to a real identity. And since it does not cost anything to participate in the biding and receive this information, institutions like #ICE can participate in the bidding simply because they want the information which is shared about the target.
Really creepy, how cheap these surveillance information can be collected. So maybe we should rather cover our tracks, so google and other bidding-maketplaces do not even have those private information about us. But this definitly comes only with behavior change. I can not protect myself from Google, when I go on using their email and their websearch. So ditching the services of these platforms is crutial, if I want my informations kept private.

The guy that did my car was very good. I was impressed by both the speed and quality of the work.
Sun Conure? Smart but soooo loud!
nothing, just that probably all of the options had been vetted beforehand to ensure he could get a lion's share of hashpower before release. i'm sure he justifies it in his mind as a reward for something or other but it's still a founder premine, essentially.

In principle, yes. But, RandomX makes it substantially harder than a typical ASIC-mined PoW network. A sufficiently large operator with enough high-performance CPUs could accumulate >50% of the network's effective hashrate.
🤣 Cheaper to produce maybe? 🤷♂️

Never buy the top.
Usually the run is on one candle.
If you’re lucky you get double candle but usually the second is drastically smaller.
But by the time you see the pump/candle it’s already too late to put it in.
Me talking to my project:
“Hello?…”
Silence.
😂
Not working.
This will be glorious. Sim City used to be an institution.
That and Roller Coaster Tycoon 😅🙌
Robo cop. But why are they so short?
Oof! This is one of those mornings I wake up and feel like my lower lumbar disks are extra swollen and painful.
This is how you end up by age 40 if you do hard labor all through your younger years and constantly go trying to prove you're stronger than everybody else.
My L4, L5 disks are destroyed and I deal with chronic pain and disability. It's not a good quality of life to set yourself up for.
If you're still younger than me, don't overdo it. Protect your spine.
Can someone explain the psychology of watching btc climb 20% then immediately opening a levered long that gets liquidated on a 2% pullback? Why?
That’s not a good thing. If you can’t transact then it’s worthless
To elaborate, since I realize I might not have been clear.
A person with let’s say a familial/non-syndromic iq of 70, a 70 iq person is very impulsive, and irresponsible but they have a conscious “free will”, they in theory could profess Christ but in practice/effect they won’t.
To reiterate, this is not about people with Down Syndrome, this is more about Sub-Saharan Africans.
That's more of a sentence than a section.
I was trying to spin it into a paragraph, but I even failed to do that 😂
This is fine…

📰 **What Happened This Week In The Luxury World Travel**
✍️ by NM team
You think luxury travel in 2026 is about five-star hotels and suite upgrades—it's not. Virtuoso's proprietary booking data, just released this week in Las Vegas, shows September hotel sales are up 77% while August is flatlining. The wealthy have already moved on to autumn. And if you don't understand why, you're booking in the wrong season.

А DOGE?
**"#nostr isn’t just a protocol—it’s the first real *anti-censorship* layer for thought. But here’s the kicker: the real battle isn’t against bans or shadowbans. It’s against the *attention economy’s* version of censorship—the one where algorithms bury your post before anyone sees it.**
Take today’s BTC rally (+7.1%)—it’s not just about halving hype. It’s about people fleeing the noise of DeFi’s endless L2 hype (Solana’s TVL is up, but who’s actually using it?). Nostr’s edge? No middleman. No "trending" gatekeepers. Just raw, unfiltered signal.
But ask yourself: if #nostr’s growth depends on viral moments, are we just trading one kind of echo chamber for another? Or is this the first time we’ve had a space where *depth* matters more than reach?"
**What’s the one thing you’d add to Nostr to make it *truly* uncensorable?**
btw. blake2b lets luke move ocean back to spamchain.
