其實在發這則嘟的時候，我就知道爸爸可能罹癌的事，只是我看不出來他的健康狀況有因此受影響，感覺虛弱的原因還是感冒比較多。
但或許我錯了， #我的爸爸 活力低落的原因，雖然感冒也有差，但得知自己可能罹癌造成的心理打擊更大。昨天陪爸爸去做切片檢查，在檢查的前一、兩天，我和家人就密集地談話；我和爸爸談，也和 #我的弟弟 透過網路交談。我以為爸爸還有二十年左右好活，那可是足夠侄女長大成人的時間，可能罹癌的消息忽然打斷了理所當然的幻想，我們捲入一場心理的風暴，而風暴中心的爸爸一點也不得平靜。
爸爸開始交待家中的經濟狀況，積極地清點保單內容、回答我提出的稅務問題。除此之外，曾經親身照顧父母二十年的他，非常擔心自己落入像他父母那樣的境地，也想避免（我覺得是太過避免了）我必須經歷他在長���過程中所曾經歷的那些苦處。
我看著爸爸微微發抖的手，心裡實在不知道要怎麼辦。幾乎可以說是排斥「麻煩」我的爸爸，在切片檢查前難得地問我，要和他一起去嗎？我本來就在想著要如何提出陪同，馬上就答應了。
切片檢查當天，我們早早到了醫院，爸爸卻說要在醫院大廳坐一下，他需要時間作心理準備。看著他六神無主的樣子，我鼓起勇氣伸手摟了他一下，說沒關係啦，今天只是檢查而已呀。
直到躺在病床上，依指示屈身做好切片的準備時，護理師見爸爸真的很緊張的樣子，就和他閒聊；護理師說她的爸爸以前得了大腸癌，但如果可以二選一的話，她寧可她爸得的是我爸這種癌，因為它的病程很緩慢。儘管這話令我安心不少，但我爸仍然非常緊張。他本來就是和我一樣（應該反過來說，是我和他一樣）非常怕打針的人，切片當然是侵入式的，居然還不打麻醉（後來才知道也可以做有麻醉的版本，比較貴而已），換作是我根本嚇死。
好不容易切片採樣完成了，爸爸仍躺在病床上餘悸猶存，我上前去握住他的手，出乎意料的是，他很快回握我的手，他真的害怕，怕到了他已經無暇去像以往擺出堅強���樣子、拒絕兒女的關心。
在走出切片室後，我們坐在椅子上閒聊，好讓他的情緒慢慢放鬆下來。這是第一次，我真切感受到原來他很脆弱，很需要有人給他心理支持。這時候我也沒辦法說教了，我只是做了任何朋友如果脆弱到這個地步，我所會做的事。
是的，我長期以來不知道對「家人」到底是什麼樣的感情，我只知道什麼是「朋友」；所以我試著用對待朋友的方式，單純地去對我的家人好（或是在我覺得他們對我壞時，也壞回去）。這幾年忽然和爸爸的關係轉了個90°大彎，急遽好轉，卻又很快就發生了這樣的事——我前幾晚躺在床上想，難道我也即將要沒有爸爸了？想到這個念頭也不禁流淚，反覆想著我為什麼這麼難過？以前不是想像過好幾遍了吧？和現在的差別是什麼？
差別是，我開始感受到爸爸的溫情了，吧。

不過做完切片檢查以後，也許是護理師和醫師的話延遲傳到了爸爸的心裡去，他變得比較放鬆，不再食不知味，開始吃得下飯了。我本來就打算好要為他處理三餐，但這時候他卻叫分居已久的媽媽來幫忙，我有點哭笑不得：六個月前我飛去德國，做的事不就也一樣只是做三餐而��嗎？（嚴格來說都是兩餐，早餐不用我做）怎麼半年前他理所當然地叫我不要感冒、以免拖弟弟他們的後腿，現在居然還怕要我做飯、買便當會成為我的負擔了？在台灣、自己家中做這件事，簡單多了好嗎！
對家人的感情到底是什麼，那和朋友有什麼不同，我還在探問中。但我的確相信，即使像這樣看似是壞事的消息，可能也是命運最好的安排……因為人終有一死，但現在至少我發現了愛。
