Bit warm to be walking below 2000 meters but the cool breeze and forest foliage helped. Today we did a walk in the Sierra de Huetor, combining the Cañada del Senero with an off piste ascent of Cerro del Corza 1606m.
My first visit to Cerro del Corza. It's a wonderful viewpoint for not only the Sierra Nevada, but also the Majaliar and Peñon de la Mata peaks.

The Mighty Alcazaba
Alcazaba 3369m is the 3rd highest peak in the Sierra Nevada and yet, in my opinion, it is undoubtedly the finest. Mulhacen, being the highest, is very popular and has a refuge close by. Veleta is easily accessible so has many people visiting it's summit. Alcazaba though, needs a bit more thought.
It's a more remote peak so you have either a very long and ardous day or you have to wild camp. I would always choose to wild camp, usually at the upper lakes of Siete Lagunas or Laguna de las Calderetas to the north.
Alcazaba, "The Fortress", is well named. It is guarded on 3 sides by cliffs, although there are trekking ways through those defences. A few days ago we started from Laguna de Borreguil (Siete Lagunas) and reached the Alcazaba summit plateau via a steep scree gully named "El Colaero", which brought us out at the col between Puntal de la Cornisa 3316m and Peñon del Globo 3296m. It's a short stroll from there to Alcazaba summit.
For something different we came back to Siete Lagunas via Peñon del Globo and the rough, mainly pathless ridge heading south east. We had taken our time, savouring the situations, but this meant we had missed the bus connection from Alto de Chorillo, adding another hour and a half walk in the hot sun down the dirt track.

En cuanto al formato: al principio, debo admitir que me costó un poco adentrarme en el contenido. Incluso llegué a preguntarme si estaba escuchando a una IA. Sin embargo, al reflexionar, me di cuenta de que esto es natural cuando se viene de escuchar a podcasters muy expresivos, que te hacen sentir como si estuvieras teniendo una conversación directa con ellos. A pesar de ello, este cambio de "atmósfera" resultó ser muy refrescante. Una vez que te acostumbras, la información fluye de manera clara y constante, lo cual es muy apreciado.
En cuanto al contenido: ¡es enciclopédico!, en el sentido de que es rico y completo. Además, a medida que uno va escuchando, surgen preguntas que se responden de forma natural a medida que el episodio avanza. Despierta una gran curiosidad por seguir escuchando, aprender más y profundizar en los temas.
Definitivamente creo que disfrutaré mucho escuchándote a partir de ahora.

The hike into the valley of the "Siete Lagunas" a couple of days ago involved passing two small hidden lakes, rarely visited by other humans. Laguna Prado Negro and another further north which doesn't have a name. It should, it's stunning! The wonderful wild side of the Sierra Nevada that few others get to see.

I assume you have received several good explanations by now, but in case you haven’t I wrote this almost 2 years ago:
How do we check “follower count” on nostr?
1. Your client sends a request to all your connected relays asking for contact lists that follow you
2. Relays answer back with the events requested
3. The client aggregates the event total, de-duplicates, and displays the count
Each relay has a set limit on how many stored events it will return per request. For some relays it’s 500, others 1000, some as high as 5000. Let’s say for simplicity that all your public relays you query use 500 as their limit. If you ask 10 relays for your followers the max possible answer you can get is 5000. In reality you won’t ever get 5000 unique responses, you’ll likely get something closer to the same 500 from each relays you query. That won’t change if you have 20,000 followers or 100,000 or if you query 100 relays instead of 10. You may get back a “different” 500-5000 each time, but you’ll still cap out at 5000 (non-unique) because that is the most events your client will receive.
Primal, nostr.band, and other aggregators that store counts in their own DB will always show different numbers than clients reading directly from relays. Generally speaking, neither number is correct! #note1rg3…yq75

When many people know the same private key, they enjoy fully anonymous group DMs and group announcements.
People who know the key can sign and encrypt messages to it, which only the other group members can read, but even they don't know who actually signed the message. It's a refreshing change to not know the identity of a speaker, you focus on the message, not the messenger, and high quality ideas are generally promoted.
Likewise anyone in the group can sign a kind 1 and make public posts to the nostr, where again nobody knows which exact individual signed this message.
This is such a trivial solution, and it's amazing how well it actually works. Yet we can apply zero knowledge cryptography to have more secure access rights while still ensuring anonymity of the participants.

1. Be impeccable with your word
Words are powerful tools. Use them to share love, uplift others. Avoid gossip, it is poison. Be impeccable with words to yourself too
2. Do not take anything personally
Taking things personally is a form of selfishness, as it assumes everything is about "me." People's opinions are shaped by their own experiences and perspectives. If someone doesn’t treat you with respect, it’s a gift to part ways. Your heart will heal, and you will find that you don’t need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices.
3. Do not make assumptions
Assumptions lead to misunderstandings and unnecessary drama. We make assumptions because we don’t have the courage to ask questions. Love is accepting other people the way they are without trying to change them.
4. Always do your best

According to the draft regulation dated 28 May (Council document 9093/24), ChatControl deploys to do, for instance:
🔻 “upload moderation”, users of apps and services with chat functions are to be asked whether they accept the indiscriminate and error-prone scanning and possibly reporting of their privately shared images, photos and videos.
🔻Scan by “artificial intelligence” technology previously unknown images and videos;
🔻If a user refuses the scanning, they would be blocked from sending or receiving images, photos, videos and links (Article 10).
🔻End-to-end encrypted services such as Whatsapp or Signal would have to implement the automated searches “prior to transmission” of a message (so-called client-side scanning, Article 10a).
During the last discussion on 24 May, the Council Legal Service made it clear that indiscriminate chat control scanning of non-suspects is still envisioned and remains a violation of fundamental rights.

I like the options given so far, like the choice of using Signal protocol or NIP4, although as of now Signal protocol is a no brainer because of better privacy
So far I've realized a couple of things:
1) Paid relays are probably the future of #Nostr, if the protocol will gain the mass of users the hope
2) Using Nostr relays for messaging is a nice idea, particularly if the amount of relays will increase in the future (already tens out there), because of the neutral position of relays with regards to nodes, particularly Kind1 notes
3) In private messaging apps we're used to send also multimedia content, which is a bit more tricky to deal with if you aim at keeping the #Nostr protocol distributed enough
4) mobile texting today is made of apps that don't charge for the messages amount, so people are used to sent a gazillion messages of few words. The pay-for-message paradigm would completely change how we approach texting.
Paid messages and relays help me realise how low is the profitability of LN routing, btw...few hours of messages and you wipe your monthly average revenue from routing XD

Do toho krásna novinka, že EÚ chce zaviesť register majetku a už robila aj nejaké výberové konania na dodávateľov. Som zvedavý, kedy sa tieto skvelé služby prepoja a tým reptajúcim ukrajincom rovno ten majetok preventívne zoberú, uľahčí sa dedinské konanie.
Toto je jasný **participatívny fašizmus**. Demokratom sa toto označenie nepáči, ale má to všetky charakteristiky. Diskriminácia síce nie je podľa odtieňa pokožky, ale podľa obrázku na pase, ale jedno je isté - niekto má bez reptania ísť do mlynčeka na mäso. A štát musí vedieť, čo má zhabať, ak nebudú poslúchať. Moja banka mi poslala nové platobné karty kuriérom do európskej socialistickej únie. Kus plastu s magnetickým pásikom a čipom. Celková cena asi 20 socialistických eurocentov. Jasné, že to ide cez colníkov, ktorí to budú skúmať mikroskopom, vyhodnocovať či to nie je z trilobitích sŕdc a potom ma skásnu za túto skvelú službu 50 eurofiatónov.
Keď som kamarátovi z civilizácie za oceánom vysvetľoval, že toto sa fakt deje, mal som pocit ako keby som mu rozprával nejaké dystopické sci-fi a tak trochu som predpokladal, že tomu nemôže veriť, že mu je jasné, že si robím z neho srandu.
Nerobím, tak si aspoň zahundrem.

Bueno, hay algunos clientes publicados en la página de getalby para podcast, en donde no permiten el acceso usando ni getalby ni las claves de Nostr, en su lugar piden usuario y contraseña, eso es muy antiNostr no? 🤔

Blocking/unblocking is clunky just like other stuff like search, follows etc.
#amethyst also have an intentional flaw when if you've been reported idk how many times 5, 10, you will be hidden to other amethyst users. Maybe I'm wrong but this is not a freedom tech feature.

No matter what I do...
I can't unblock myself or other people on Amethyst.
I tried to update on nostros and nostrudel. But there is a list with only five people muted, and I'm not included so can't unblock myself there.
My following list doesn't match either. In amethyst I have 6k followings. Any other client shows me the correct number (400 and something)
I love Amethyst but can't use it. Any other advice??
