We have a project called @npub1cre…feh6 that is still an early beta but the idea was to make an interoperable patreon-like relay. There is still some friction on the payments/relay authentication side but its a working prototype that will evolve!

Hey sorry for any confusion! Coracle requires you to enable authentication with relays in settings -> app settings which is required to use filter.
Perhaps the users could be asked if they want to enable AUTH if they add a relay that asks for one? @npub1jlr…ynqn

Definitely possible. Significant wind shear near the ground is one of the more dangerous things in aviation.
Only some airliners and some airports have auto landing capability. It wouldn’t be used for windy conditions, only when visibility is very poor or for testing/proficiency.
On the contrary, autopilot systems will often automatically disconnect in bad turbulence.

The rental market has gotten absurd too. Most server providers will charge $1-2 per IP per month.
You can lease them directly from marketplaces for considerably cheaper (and we do) but I want some digital real estate 😂

Anyone jumped through the hoops to get an ASN from ARIN or RIPE and get on one of the IPv4 waitlists?
Seems like ~2 years is the average wait time atm or you can pay ~$30 per IP to buy a subnet from a 3rd party 💸

Hmmm - nothing has changed on our end. Filter is still sending out events to our list + related NIP-65 relays. There could be some rate-limiting issues with some relays but it would still end up on many relays.

Filter sits in front of our public relay aggregator so as long as the zap ends up on one of the many public relays we read from, it will make it to filter.
Only paid users can write to filter and we broadcast those notes back out.
We COULD add this to nostr.wine since it works like most paid relays, but it does open up a way to get spammed. We whitelisted most of the large wallet providers a while back but if you run your own zapper you’ll need to buy access for it as well.

It started as a weekend project but took a bit longer to make it extensible and stable. I didn’t ever promote it much.
I use it 24/7 for our relays and not sure what I’d do without it tbh. None of the other monitoring services give me what I need for nostr relays.

Put more simply: a way for our relay to know who is making requests for notes. Without it, we have no way to restrict access to only our paying customers.
It also lets us protect your DM metadata by only allowing the author and recipient to query the event on nostr.wine.

Yeah, unfortunately no guarantees on preventing rebroadcasting - just our best effort solution. It is effective on most relay implementations but there is nothing stopping anyone from accepting the notes if they want.
It will be rejected by relays that support expiration or “-“ tags. Resharing of Creatr hosted media is more robust.

Some type of nostr.wine package that includes everything. We’ll work on that. It makes sense to me.
Both relays send the pop up notifications that appear on Amethyst and both also send DM reminders. Unfortunately Amethyst is the only client that supports the NOTIFY message so we support both options.

You are absolutely right that there isn’t a good solution currently for where to “put” or how to label proxy relays.
I always envisioned a proxy relay as more of an “app” relay. The implementation part is still up for debate.
I think a separate encrypted list (outside of 10002) that isn’t meant to be shared with other users could be a solution for this. Another proposed solution is to add more labels to relays in 10002 events.

Small note: you don’t need ?broadcast=true anymore on filter as that is the default. If you wish to disable broadcasting you can still use ?broadcast=false

I think I know what’s going on. If you just send an event to inbox it should work fine but if you AUTH to inbox without a paid account you get the payment notice.

Have you tried using nostr.wine for this? We support NIP-50 and pull search results from our aggregator so it should have fairly good coverage (though not as complete as nostr.band).

@npub1gcx…nj5z Curious what paid relays are actually doing this? As far as I know there are very few subscription paid relays - most are just a one time admission fee so they shouldn’t have to address this concern.
There are some public relays that have changed to paid relays in recent months. Perhaps that could be a cause?
