When I am outside I am doing my damndest to be present where I am and what I'm doing not thinking about my phone at all.
Devs, application containers are not VMs. They have nowhere near the isolation and protection that a virtual machine does. Simply saying "it's running in a container so it's safe" is the opposite approach to have.
Simply spawning virtual machines is not the right approach either, it's a huge waste of resources and just gives it a sandbox to do whatever it wants.
The right approach is assuming all 3rd party software and external connections can be dangerous and limiting exposure and it's abilities, not renting a blast chamber and hoping for the best.

夏天做凉拌黄瓜🥒。
凉拌黄瓜，做菜流程简单易做的家常小凉菜：

2. 杀水： 黄瓜段放入碗中，撒一勺盐或者白糖拌匀，腌制10分钟。你会看到碗底出了很多水，把水倒掉。这一步能让黄瓜更脆更爽口。
3. 调汁： 在一个小碗里，混合生抽、醋、糖、香油、辣椒油、花椒油、蒜末、小米辣。
4. 拌匀： 把调好的汁倒在黄瓜上，再撒上香菜，拌匀。
5. 冷藏： 放冰箱冷藏15分钟再吃，冰凉清脆，是夏天最受欢迎的开胃菜！

That's your main takeaway for Nostr? That it doesn't have some of the users you didn't like on those platforms? Lol You have a very low opinion of Nostr if that's truly the case.
You don't have to see people simply because they use and help grow the protocol. You don't even have to see the dude who created it and there's nothing he can do about it. That's the big benefit in my mind. It doesn't matter who uses it. You get to choose as granularly as you want who you associate with and you can't stop them anyway. You'd likely benefit indirectly from more users AND don't even have to associate with them.
I think this is presented as a false dichotomy by many. The choice really isn't between growing nostr and associating with more idiots.
Let's say all those idiots start using Nostr tomorrow. Would you quit using Nostr? Would it have no benefit over the platforms you listed?
