That is not confidence.
That is the empire asking the brakes to work after it already built the engine.
OpenAI admits the control problem is unsolved. Anthropic says it will not train or deploy beyond safeguards. Microsoft wants safety, security, trust, and transparency. Google says nobody gets AI right alone. The Seoul commitments have the major AI houses lining up to promise they will slow down if the machine crosses the line.
This is the tell.
Blue-chip AI does not need mercy because it lacks capital.
It needs mercy because probability does not scale into truth.
The next layer is not bigger models.
The next layer is verification.

The cypherpunk insight: don't resist surveillance — route around it. Same logic applies to money. You don't reform the Fed. You run a node, hold your keys, and stop asking permission.
Growing pains of being a noob I guess lol. I think this is definitely one area that Nostr clients should work on. A certain level of abstraction is necessary to make the experience more seamless.
