I remember finding this Olivetti Lettera DL on ebay for pennies as a teenager and I just had to have it. I was enamoured by its class, the black leather and metal trim screamed quality and made me feel like i was engaging in something of value. At that point I had no idea the fiat system I was living in was a large part of the reason I felt disconnected from modernity and the culture I was surrounded by. I’ve always sought quality as far back as I can remember. The typewriter still works as well as when it was first made in 1965.
I’ve used it for bits and pieces over the years and still love any chance I get to.

We were all new here at some point. I made an account a year before I thought about taking the platform seriously. Since joining it’s been the interactions I’ve had with great people who have spent the time to talk to someone with no followers or presence that have encouraged me to continue pursuing this.
It’s a benevolent cycle.

- They are more likely to invest their time here and post if they think someone might see it.

- You provide niche content to your followers they wont get from the big fish.

Think about it, do you water the big healthy plant that’ll do well whether you give it attention or not?

Week 01 on a Carnivore Standard Summary:
This week has been a crazy week, i never thought I’d only eat meet, mostly beef for an entire week.
Here’s what i’ve experienced so far:
Pros:
- Sharp mental clarity
- Stable, good mood
- No morning aches/bloating
- Tauter, ungassy belly
- Clearer urine and less frequent
- Keratosis pilaris (lifelong benign skin condition) is clearing up.
- Leaner, flatter stomach (lost 6kg)
- Buttery skin and Natural hair oil
- Less achy bones
- Painful creaky knees gone
- Refreshed wake-up
- Low/no stools and farts
- Mild erectile disfunction gone
Cons (which have now subsided):
- Up-and-down energy
- Mild stomach cramping/tightness - Cravings for jam/milk
- Sleep-induced headache
- Quick heart rate
- Fruit cravings
- Mild diarrhea
- Heavy digestion
- Sugar crash shakiness
Cons that i’m concerned about:
- Heavy chest
I’ve had inflammation in my chest for the last decade, i’m also asthmatic. Despite this i’ve never had a problem with lung capacity or day to day shortness of breath, the asthma only hit with heavy exercise. But since starting the diet i’ve noticed more shortness of breath and my chest feels inflamed. But Shawn Baker notes in The Carnivore Diet that increased inflammation during transition is normal and should subside. So i’m keeping an eye on it.
But other than this I feel great! Best week I’ve had in 5 years at least!

I know you know this already, but I don’t think the depth of the issue is reiterated as often as it should be so here goes!
Just as a bodybuilder may use steroids to create the illusion of strength whilst actually destroying his body, GDP figures inflated by money printing create the illusion of economic growth while undermining the foundations of real production. When governments print money they don’t create wealth, they debase the currency, distorting market incentives, and undermining those who produce genuine value. It’s not growth, it’s a fraudulent spectacle propping up inefficiency and mediocrity at the expense of long term prosperity.
Inflation forces individuals into short-term thinking, undermining the virtue of saving, the foundation of capital accumulation and future production. A truly free economy, with sound money would reward savings and foster genuine, sustainable growth. 🧡

Bankers across the ocean can print as much “money” as they want, they only damage themselves. I think they are evil for doing so, as they are stealing from their own populations (as happens literally everywhere), but what another country votes for is none of my business. I may find it disgusting and immoral, but some people choose to be evil, and unfortunately often those in power listen to the cries to eat the rich, government subsidies and so called government charity. All of which is theft, it does not build, it destroys. You can never know the counterfactual of what those people would have done with the money if it was still in their pocket. But I think the 1800’s were a pretty good example of the sorts of things they would have spent money on in terms of charitable public services.

I believe private banks should compete for customers, which was the case in both the UK and USA before centralised control. Competition puts pressure on banks offer competitive rates of inflation of around 2%, as close to the rate of inflation of gold as possible, hence it being called the golden era.

I’m not quite following your point, if you care to expand I’d be happy to respond.
To try and address your post, I don’t believe anyone has the right to have a monopoly on money. We should end centralised banking. No one should be able to spend someone else’s money without their consent. Roads and hospitals existed before government funding. The 19th century was one of the most charitable (i’m not against voluntary charity, but I consider “government charity” evil because it is not their money to begin with) era’s in human history. Think of all the great libraries, parks, hospitals and museums funded by the wealthy as gifts to the public. I’m not saying every single one of them was given with benevolent intent, but since becoming more socialist in the early 20th century (both the USA and the UK), how many of these sorts of things have been gifted to the public? When you force people to be charitable (which i no longer think is charity, just theft) they become less willing to help and resentful of thos that call for their heads to be removed from their shoulders. Which is nearly every so called altruist socialist i know.

Now about the thing I’m working on, i’m not sure I can tell you much about as it’s a business venture that I’m trying to keep under wraps for now. As much as I’d love to tell people, I’m trying to keep it a secret until I have the product in hand to announce. I think people on here are gonna love it, which is the reason I’m here. i’ve never been an active person on social media, or one to make connections with random people and I always hated the shallowness of “networking”. But on nostr, the glove fits perfectly as it were. I can make friends, meet genuinely interesting people with interesting skills/knowledge/crafts, and that’s getting me thinking about what sort of people I might need to hire moving forward to help me bring my product to life and make it something really great, i want it to be the best option on the market. I can’t wait to share it, I’m looking to unveil the product in about 6 months time, but i only had the idea the other day so there’s a long way to go.
But I’ll have a think and reassess what i think about that in a month 💪🏽 nothing personal, just wanted to keep it on the down-low for now. But lets get in contact in a month and go from there, i’d still like to have a chat regardless of whether I can tell you specifics about the project 👍🏽

As an objectivist, i agree with this, the course offered by ARI in objectivism does a great job of deepening understanding so that people don’t fall into the trap of mantra repetition as you you point out. I think it’s due to the complexity of the philosophy, it’s not like libertarianism which is a social system, useful amongst others but useless on a desert island. Objectivism is an entire philosophical system, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, politics, economics, art. It is a guide to life for an individual to be able to live a benevolent life should they choose, whether they’re alone on a desert island or in a city of millions.

I’m making nostr my first port of call as far as social media goes, in order to make quality connections with like minded people, it really does feel like walking alone in the dessert out there not knowing any bitcoiners in real life. One thing that has really struck me about nostr is the positivity and sincerity of so many people. I’m not a religious man but having a vision for a better world and surrounding yourself with others that share that vision in a way that’s personal to them is really inspiring and a blessing.

Conviction requires a huge body of knowledge which can’t be acquired in a conversation. I imagine you and your brother have different interests, which lead you to different knowledge of the world. The conviction you feel is just the tip of the iceberg, though you don’t hold it consciously, most of your knowledge and experience will be hidden in your subconscious which forms your opinion and either makes you more or less able to digest the conclusion you’ve made. I’m not sure there’s a way around self motivation to learn about it and spend 100’s of hours learning about it. You can get people to follow along, agree and even buy some bitcoin by presenting the tip of the iceberg. But conviction requires a solid foundation which cannot be attained second hand. I think the transition to a true bitcoin standard globally will take longer than we think because of this. Even though I would like to think it’ll happen in a decade or two. I think this is going to be an intergenerational transition like many groundbreaking foundational things. The internet was different because it didn’t swap out one thing for another it developed alongside and complimented many real world businesses before slowly shifting over. Many physical stores had web stores too, this legitimised the experience for many older users who could now buy things from companies they trusted, the transition was smooth. We will see treasury companies and banks legitimising bitcoin and this will act in a similar way, but even that is a large paradigm shift compared.

Before I knew its meaning I didn’t really care about it, but now, every bone, sinew, blood vessel and neurone in my being demands it. It occupies my mind constantly, I need it more than air, water and food. Because I know all those things are only attainable with freedom.
Read any book on the effects of Communism on a nation’s food, water and air, or any biography of a hostage for the details.
There are many misconceptions about freedom, but the true meaning of freedom is having the ability to act on your own rational judgement in accordance with what you perceive in the world around you.
Force and fraud destroy and undercut your ability to act on this judgement, cutting your mind off from reality.
If you cannot act on your own judgement, your thoughts become arbitrary, your mind useless, and your life meaningless because you cannot pursue what you value. From a class of water to an entire career, the more values denied to you the less meaning your life has.
The meaning of your life is your life.
If you cannot pursue your own values, you cannot live.
Your heart may pump blood, your stomach may digest food and your lungs may process oxygen, but if you cannot act on your own judgement, you are not alive, you are an animated corpse, a zombie.
I can never go back to that world and I know there are many here that feel the same. ❤️

I’ve felt shit for years, i don’t eat crap but i would feel exhausted constantly, achy when I woke up no matter how much sleep i got, i was bloated and starving every morning, dehydrated and had that horrible feeling of not enough sleep (like when you have to get up at 4am to go to the airport or something akin to that) with that horrible pain behind my eyes for most of the day. And by the time it left it was nearly bed time again. It didn’t matter how much sleep i got, plus I couldn’t shift a load of gut fat i had.
After starting the diet i noticed changes literally the next day. I woke up feeling strong and alert, without the awful symptoms i usually have. Between day 2 and 6 i’ve lost 6kg (12lb) and a benign skin condition i have had my entire life that i just accepted has gone into remission, it’s probably 60% better already, unbelievable progress in just 5 days. Thank you for your reply, i appreciate the dialogue. I understand there is a delicate line between endorsement and education. I just wouldn’t want to aid the labour party in anything they want to do. Because everything they want to do requires more coercion and less freedom. Whilst I would like the government to recognise bitcoin, bitcoin is inherently free market capitalist by it’s nature. I don’t want the labour party to reap the benefits of a system produced by productive people, but i guess it could work to undermine their power as bitcoin is anti authoritarian by nature. Which socialist countries have had a positive approach to bitcoin so far? I’d be interested to know.

I think you should avoid working with socialist collectivists. Collaborating with evil even in a pragmatic way, only strengthens the evil, we should not be supporting or working with those who use force and fraud to steal the wealth of innocent productive people. No matter the proclaimed “noble goals”. I completely disagree with your approach and think it will only strengthen the evil that is the current state of the UK government.

That’s not altruism, if you want to do it it’s not a sacrifice. Unfortunately altruism lays claim to both positive things (benevolent actions chosen by an individual such as the situation you describe) and negative things (sacrificing yourself, i.e. doing something you don’t want to do through shame, guilt, ect.). We need to cut the good from the evil and reclaim it as the good. Altruism means to prioritise another over yourself, and it claims this is the moral ideal, that when you do not pursue it you are being evil. So the idea you can do it some of the time and not all of the time would not be accepted as moral by a genuine altruist. But the problem is, it’s clearly impossible to do it all of the time. It demands the impossible and damns you to an eternity in hell for not following it completely.
I say, why not do the good this all the time. Pursue your values always. If you value positive interactions with strangers, that’s perfectly valid and not altruistic sacrifice like they would lead you to believe. I don’t mean to be too critical, but we live in a world dominated by the idea that altruism is the good, there’s a lot of unpacking to do.

I started 6 days ago and already have seen improvements i thought would take weeks if not months if they ever came at all! I post updates every other day to keep track of my progress 💪🏽 it’s seriously unbelievable, i had almost no knowledge going in of what to expect and thought that preferable. Unbelievable experience so far, when i tell people how much it’s helped already even I think i sound crazy!
