I can't answer on plans, but in theory this is currently already a configuration option that can be toggled. (Don't recommend that, though, see Forgejo's FAQ – authored by yours truly.)

#Codeberg has a rather small team backing it. As registrations on Codeberg have gone way up as of the past week, we could always use help from (both from non-technical and technical volunteers). To see what we have to offer, take a look here: https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/Contributing/wiki
There isn't necessarily a time commitment involved (if at all). Say, if 20 people spent 5-15 minutes to, say, send a pull request to something that annoyed them in our documentation, it would be in a much better state.

Hi, thank you for spreading the word. Given that money is involved, I think that I have to correct a nuance regarding our blog post (personal opinion) so as to not have people feel misled: We are generally very frugal and tend to prefer upcycling hardware that would otherwise be useless as a _matter of principle_. It's also why we chose to promote another non-profit that repurposes hardware to those in need.

people often tell me "you know, I like [this project], but there's JUST ONE LITTLE ISSUE THAT is preventing me from..."
and then I say "if I had the time to deal with everyone's one little issues, I'd need a massive sponsorship or universal basic income". i divert a lot of my efforts into helping other people get started, because that, in the long run, saves me time (even if that approach fails sometimes).

what is important to the project is not your ability to respond fast, but your ability to prevent the hobby from becoming a full-time unpaid job - i still fail at that.
the solution is: on-boarding, then delegate, delegate, delegate. if nobody else is there, tell the people in your issues that you're at capacity and could use extra help.

There isn't an active pull request for federated PRs/issues (PoCs exist), discoverability (PoCs exist), everything is unit tested (now: against GTS as well), there is not a lot of front-facing functionality (yet). A lot of necessary groundwork is ongoing - a lot more work in maturing the moderation tools is also needed, but that has been moving forward because of Codeberg's presence as a massive instance (e.g. user blocking and reporting other users are Forgejo features now).
