Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous expressed that the LSD experience significantly helped him.
He believed it could facilitate the spiritual awakening necessary for recovery, although this view was controversial within AA.
He credited his own sobriety to a mystical experience he had on belladonna, a plant-derived alkaloid with hallucinogenic properties that was administered to him at Towns Hospital in Manhattan in 1934.
Beginning in 1956, Bill W. had several LSD sessions in Los Angeles with Sidney Cohen and Betty Eisner, a young psychologist who had recently completed her doctorate at UCLA.
Along with the psychiatrist Oscar Janiger, Cohen and Eisner were by then leading figures in a new hub of LSD research loosely centered on UCLA

Best Time Of Year To Visit Canada To Experience The Churchill Trifecta
It really all depends what you’re looking for. The best time in Churchill to view the Northern Lights is from Jan-Mar. Cold temperatures lead to clear skies combined with long nights give visitors the best chance of viewing the Aurora.
If you’re into birding, the best time of year to view hundreds of migratory birds is May and June. As we get into summer and the Churchill River breaks up thousands of Beluga Whales return to spend July and August before making their way back North.
During the summer months it’s also possible to view polar bears again as they come off the ice. The bears spend the summer months trying to stay cool and are often seen near the shoreline of Hudson Bay.
In October/November ice begins to form on the shores of Hudson Bay and Polar Bears become more active in anticipation of the seal hunt.

Electricity travels across high-voltage lines in waves, and when those wave patterns deviate from what’s considered ideal, it distorts the power that flows into homes.
Bad harmonics can force home electronics to run hot, or even cause the motors in refrigerators and air conditioners to rattle. It’s an issue that can add up to billions of dollars in total damage.
More importantly, bad harmonics are symptomatic of much deeper problems that are engulfing the US grid.
Loudoun County, outside of Washington, DC, saw its data-center capacity increase by 2% in 2024 to about 3,000 megawatts (MW).
Nationally, the data analysis showed that roughly 1.7% of sensors in the average county had at least one monthly reading that exceeded the 8%-threshold for bad harmonics. That share was more than four times higher in Loudoun County!!!

Some Bitcoiners Are Using Gains To Buy Houses And Cars
More households are using gains made from Bitcoin investing to take out mortgages and buy cars.
“Bitcoin sales are allowing access to larger mortgages through bigger down payments,” researchers Samuel Hughes, Francisco Ilabaca, Jacob Lockwood, and Kevin Zhao wrote in a Nov. 26 report for the Treasury’s Office of Financial Research.
“The increase in borrowing is especially striking among households in high Bitcoin exposure areas,” they added.
The report said the percentage of households with mortgages in high Bitcoin-exposed areas increased by over 250%, and the average mortgage balance rose by 150% from around $172,000 in 2020 to roughly $443,000 in 2024.
“Zip codes with the highest Bitcoin exposure saw the largest increase in mortgage and auto loan originations and balances over subsequent years.”
The study used tax data to determine which areas had higher exposure to Bitcoin assets, classifying a “high-Bitcoin” zip code as one with more than 6% of households reporting a Bitcoin tax event.

The National Center for Public Policy noted that MicroStrategy's stock outperformed Amazon's stock by 537% due to its Bitcoin strategy.
The National Center for Public Policy Research — a Washington DC-based think tank championing free markets — has submitted a shareholder proposal to Amazon Corp arguing for a Bitcoin corporate treasury strategy to be considered at the April 2025 shareholder meeting.
"As of December 6, 2024, the price of Bitcoin increased by 131% over the previous year, outperforming corporate bonds by 126% on average. Over the past five years, the price of Bitcoin increased by 1,246%, outperforming corporate bonds by 1,242% on average."

A TikTok poster sarcastically offered condolences: “My deepest thoughts and deductibles to the family. Unfortunately my condolences are out-of-network and it isn’t deemed medically necessary.”
Patient support groups commonly use the refrain “deny, delay and defend,” which is meant to summarize cost-driven insurance-company tactics that some customers see as harsh.

Making Suriname The Next Bitcoin Nation Inspires Presidential Candidate Maya Parbhoe To Fight Corruption And The Murder Of Her Father
Maya Parbhoe, a presidential candidate for the South American nation of Suriname, has an ambitious vision: To build a Bitcoin nation even more deeply rooted in crypto than Nayib Bukele’s El Salvador.
Her plan for Suriname extends well beyond making Bitcoin legal tender, including dismantling the central bank, cutting taxes, privatizing public services, issuing national Bitcoin bonds and pursuing widespread deregulation.
Parbhoe also sees Bitcoin as a way to address Suriname’s rampant corruption, something she and her family suffered firsthand when her father was murdered — allegedly by a hitman — amid a national scandal.
Maya Parbhoe’s Tragic Experience With Corruption
Parbhoe’s burning motivation to tackle corruption began when her father, Winod Parbhoe, was murdered in a drive-by shooting when Maya was 13 years old.
The tragedy took place shortly after he blew the whistle to several authorities, including the CIA, that millions of US dollars were being funneled to bank accounts at BNY Mellon through De Surinaamsche Bank (DSB), the largest bank in Suriname.
The funds were allegedly used to finance the Colombian guerrilla group FARC.
If the national economy were based on Bitcoin, the governmental budget would be transparent and traceable, and “we would become an open=source government.”
She also wants to create “a corruption bounty program so any person in the world could find corruption in the system and receive a reward for reporting it.”
Parbhoe’s vision has garnered significant support from the Bitcoin community, offering a glimmer of hope in her fight against systemic corruption. Only time will tell whether the momentum she’s building will be enough to reshape the country’s future.

US Government Crypto Wallets Hacked For $20M.
First, US Government seizes Crypto which was stolen from the Bitfinex exchange in 2016 by Ilya Lichtenstein and his wife Heather Morgan. Fast-forward to 10-24-2024 and we find that hackers compromise the US Government-controlled crypto-wallet and steal some of the same seized crypto and are now laundering it through addresses likely associated with a money-laundering service.
It's rather alarming that a crypto wallet controlled by the US government was breached by hackers.
And this is exactly what will happen when your government's CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) rolls-out!
If this doesn't make the case for self-custody of your assets then you're beyond help!
