Debated about posting this because it's personal, but it's no longer a secret since she's also on the internet and sharing it. But my kid is trans, she told me and, since I had been keeping my unsubtle secret, I told her I was too. It's been wonderful, these last few years have been amazing watching her figure out who she is in so many ways and embracing the confusion and the journey. I keep using the wrong name, which has convinced me that being right wing is just a skill issue. Git gud

Cogburn is an amoral engineer that installed an untested alien cognator into an old bar-bot, intending for it to serve him in his twisted operations, unfortunately along with the improved mental faculties Rawlings discovered a burning need to see justice done across the galaxy. #minipainting

I kinda stop drawing, at least regularly, and found myself over the last few days just getting back into it. #fedipaint progress, mostly worked on Rawlings (I don't think I ever remember the same spelling), mostly happy with the glow but still feel the colour scheme is off, I think the colours for the gun will either pull it together or ruin it. Just a little highlights on the red cloak for Cogburn I'm mostly just doing him when I'm letting paint dry. #minipainting

Started a couple more guys, Rawlins and Cogburn, still going to do quick and fun painting for them but they'll get just a little extra love since this will also be my #fedipaint entry. Not sure about the colours on the bot but the plan is to brighten the blue a lot to be more metallic and less saturated so I think it'll work. Having weird issues with my Scalecolor red looking green when it dries, it maybe just doesn't mix well with the black, so I've resorted to 2 thin coats. #minipainting

So I keep refreshing mastodon, YouTube, reddit endlessly. I don't even want to, I find occasional motivation to get outside to walk to do jobs around the house, to do self care, hobbies. I lose myself in it for a bit then fine I've been stuck doing nothing for hours afterwards.

So he's stopped eating because he's in pain and she won't or can't get the treatment so that's horrendous. I just keep lying awake at night and having no energy or motivation during the day. Emotionally like we're really ok we're supporting each other and finding reasons to be grateful and everything but damn I miss my wee furry buddies, my bitey pals. I also worry that when I fall into grief it will dredge up parents and everything and I'll lose my stability again.

I feel like I've been chronically online these last couple of weeks. After losing our wee cat, the owner of our old stray cat finally surfaced after about a year and a half of the vet apparently trying, his 'owner' lives 2 minutes away but hadn't seen him in years and freely admitted she just preferred the dog she got and it didn't like him. But now the dog is gone. Unfortunately he needs a hernia treated and we couldn't do it as he's not 'ours' and she won't do it. So both are gone

Finished the base colours on the bases so I can get into blocking in colours, but then I got distracted and wanted to paint so decided to break my rustiness on one of the less exciting ones. Of course I ended up really liking it. Based this guy on Elcor from Visionaries and there's just a joy to painting this simply. #minipainting

We found out cat, Remi, unfortunately he had been fatally injured. We've sorted all that out and are just sat in our grief missing him feeling very lost. Specifically I miss that he used to climb up on me if I was sitting on the sofa and give me actual kisses, never knew a cat that did that. He was so affectionate and truly loved so I'm not sad about that, he had a short but happy life.

Sprues have begun arriving, silliness has begun ensuing. I've got a knight kit still to arrive and set up a wee print for some fun bits I could add, especially for the model I want to do for #fedipaint . Also started putting together my rules into a cool pdf, game's getting called Hyperspace Frontier.

Since I was thinking of doing some minis in an action cartoon style I decided to make a wee theme tune, though since it's in BeepBox it's the Genesis tie in game version. It's silly but I love it.

I always want to say yes to this, but it always comes down to my fickleness. I can't say for sure if I start painting them I'll continue or even do a good job, and when it's just my own nonsense that's fine but ut stresses me out when there's other people's (even minor) expectations. As an aside, are these being rereleased with the Old World Empire?

Feel the need to paint a miniature. Last thing I painted was some Blood Bowl and it confirmed for me beyond any doubt that that game is just not for me. I'm not playing anything tabletop at the moment so I have no idea what to paint. Maybe I'll strip something and do a re-paint

the way they handled the sequel by making it almost a different genre was such a smart idea though. If they'd kept switching lanes the series could have been incredible. Alien³ could have been a rom-com. Alien resurrection a musical. Which would work since Romulus was clearly wanting to be a coming-of-age teen drama.

that makes sense because it's got that real tidy balance of light and dark that puts focus where you want it. The hands coming up from below would be great, maybe you could do a crackle effect with a glow hinting that they're being resurrected
