Nostr relays will never die. Ever.
For many reasons including your privacy.
If you ever try to replace relays with direct P2P from users to users, You risk everyone to have their IPs leaked to public.
Trying to turn the relay spec to be as complex to the point that anyone barely understand what's happening will simply make #nostr grows slowly or just never grows.

If not 300 MB, a single relay usually took 120 MB after 3 minutes of usage.
120*20 = 2.4 GB on every 3 minutes of usage

Not even a week i am away from nostr, Someone already tries to use one of our services on "unfair" level.
Last night i noticed that my server is lagging and bostr2 is using 600 MB.
Once checked, there are atleast 2 host opening more than 3 sockets to our bouncer.
So now, Implemented the limit in bostr2.

NIP-66 requires another relay to be able to retrieve informations regarding availability of an relays, or publishing your relay availability.
As it needs another relay to power it up, It was really out of my goal in bostr2.
The reason for that is because an unmanageable list of relays that just keeps adding in memory and never shrunk in memory gives an even bigger consequences on server side. Even it's possible to automatically shrunk it down, The reliability on obtaining information is completely unguaranteed.
