If you grow vegetables and love capsicums, I highly recommend trying out some of the heirloom varieties.
We grew some "Chinese giant" this year and it's excellent. Thick walled, crunchy and very sweet.

Spot on.
Higher probability of head injuries because of the mechanics of fall. You have less control when crashing from a bicycle compared to falling down while running.

using lathe as a mill ? Look up Astoba UW2 :)
Import endmills are perfectly fine, in fact one of my friend uses some in a high end DMG MORI for roughing in prototype runs.

I thought you were getting the AL-250G. SC4 is a better choice IMO.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, have a look at SC10, Paramount Browns 1080MM and Hafco AL960B
I've used the 960B at a friends place, imperial lead screw is the only annoying part. Solid lathe otherwise.

I'd consider Sieg SC4, have a look at Clickspring blog / channel. The best option would be a Lathe with geared drive train with belt driven spindle + VFD but that'd be a Weiler which costs more than 2 cars when brand new.

whatever you get, make sure you can control the battery locally on ethernet or modbus over ethernet. I lose control of Powerwall whenever internet goes down.

I have a seeed studio solar node up on the roof, about 3m off the highest point. I can get to nodes directly about 20km away, and a few more hops from there reliably to 35-40km.
The solar node has been rock solid for the last month and a bit.

says Sparkfun ex-employee harassed Phil and Limor, I'm not sure it's worth wasting time any more on this but I'd trust Phil on that. He's not the kind of person that's going to make that up.
Phil reporting that to Nate, escalated into this. Sounds childish and egotistical if you ask me.

The nanny state requires you to have a registered cabling license for running patch cables through walls. Just a FYI, for insurance purposes...

Weather has been shitty here in Melbourne, but we got the first Zucchini harvest. Okra's going to be a fail this year but surprisingly the Tomatillos and Potatoes are doing great.

AFAIK the soldered in RAM is required in Strix Halo due to the bandwidth and signal integrity requirements.

China's still investing in core science and technology, betting on coming out on the other side a winner. I'm sick of the SV innovation hype bullshit, perhaps a hard reset will do it some good.

Periodic reminder about utility devices that connect to cloud. If the cloud service is having hiccups, you lose the ability to control the device. This is not the future I envisioned.
Cloud must be a value add-on, not mandatory. All devices must be mandated to operate locally without internet, this is why we need stricter government regulation but nobody in the government really cares about these things :|

So I got switched over pretty quickly to Amber. I just installed the app and the first look at the UX ..
Isn't wholesale / AEMO supposed to be less than live price ? 🤔
