I have been eyeing to own hemi.sh domain for a long time now, and someone has bought it, to host a random AI tool.

Always a fan of public transit.
Marathalli to Bellandur is only 12 rupees instead of regular Rapido being 60+ rupees.
The buses are very regular.
Why pay privately again when you already pax taxes?
Sure, if you are in hurry, then it might make sense to use private transport.

Recently learned dark theme causes issues with #astigmatism (cylindrical power in lenses, not just spherical).
I have it. #DarkTheme is fine on my phone or with my laptop very close to eyes, but laptop on a table in serious work mode, my eyes struggle with dark themes.

one of my old post but reviving it again:

I know my website looks ugly for now. Gotta work on its UI in coming weeks, taking help from Claude.
(But, hey, I have a domain with my own single name🙃)
Also, it publishes an #RSS feed, so you can subscribe to it with any feed reading software.

Had a hard time making #Citrix Workspace work on Ubuntu 26.04 with Wayland because appeareantly they can not maintain their software for #Linux.
Finally figured out and published it here: https://hemish.net/posts/citrix-workspace-compat/
I can finally #WFH
from my personal laptop running Linux.

Shipped my 1st GNOME Shell extension.
Tally, a minimal click counter that lives in the GNOME top bar. Left-click to increase, right to decrease. Count persists.
Started because I wanted to track completed freelance tasks without opening any app, something that just lives in GNOME top bar.
Nnow live for Shell 49+
Install from https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/10050/tally/, https://github.com/imhemish/gnome-extension-tally/, or search "Tally" on Extensions Manager.
Available under GPL-3.0+

Choice is mind boggling.
I can't decide shoes and clothes from a chaos of different varieties.
The mind normalises the variety and nothing excites anymore

The hardest part in any app is authentication.
Can we please go back to the good old days of one username and password.

Dieting gives a negative connotation. You call it 'cut' and then suddenly it's aesthetic.

Kinda addicted to the second

The intersection of #Flutter & #Linux attracts me. Main reason for me learning Flutter was that it's cross-platform, and runs on Linux.
Flutter's docs mention snapcraft (snaps) to ship apps on Linux (well Canonical ofc). But, hey, you can ship your app to #Flathub, the growing app store for Linux.
A new project "flatpak-flutter" (https://github.com/TheAppgineer/flatpak-flutter) preprocesses Flutter sources so that you can put a flatpak manifest easily.
Also, it got mentioned in Flutter docs as an alternative method!

So, today I was configuring Supabase Authentication with Google OAuth & Flutter, and GURL, it's so difficult.
Supabase, though is better than Firebase because it provides unlimited R/W and a postgres database, but the friction in integrating it is VISIBLE.
With LLM's, and ofcourse the docs (RTFM), i was able to do it
I miss firebase's simplistic flutterfire, but the struggle is worth it.

So, I am watching this series called 'Upload' where the actual consciousness (also a simulation in words of protagonist), can be put into a digital simulation when you die, and you can live in hotel-like heaven, while still interacting with the alive world.
highly recommended!

Between the water war India put to Pakistan, Haryana (BJP-led) lost the water to Punjab lmao. What can be more ironic to BJP's tyranny.

When you are small, your wardrobe is automatically deprecated every year as you grow up.
But as an adult, you have to manually clean up old clothes.

Just received my GDSC MM(DU) (which is now Google Developer Groups on Campus MM(DU)) certificate for the 2023-24 academic year! 🎉
In this club, I got a chance to dive deep into #Flutter, backend development with Go, and participate in various hackathons in the past year, which I am thankful for.
I'm grateful to our lead, Sushant Dhiman and co-lead, Vansh Narang, and our mentor, Vishal Gupta sir, for their guidance and support.

Today, I was discovering what libraries does a random program depend on using the 'ldd' command on #linux system, and I found it it was depending upon 'libm.so'.
I quickly put 'libm.so' in my browser's search bar to know what is it, and guess what?
https://libm.so domain is owned by someone, and it just returns "Segmentation fault (core dumped)"
So, unique and (maybe) funny!

Yes, but this toot is kinda of funny from an Indian perspective. RSS in #India is a right-wing Hindu association, which is kind of fascist to minority groups.
