I bitch about this job a lot but "incompetent boss" is not one of my gripes. My boss is probably the most technically-gifted person on the team, he could substitute in for anyone on the engineering team.

Telling me that I don't understand something when I clearly do is a great way to trigger me.
Junior engineer: "I'm concerned that your design is wrong for reasons A, B, C."
Me: "Thanks for raising this concern but my logic is fine, none of those reasons apply because D, E, F."
Junior engineer: "I don't think you understand what I meant. [Restates original concern]."

I've had to cancel vacays because of customer commitments too. Even worse, I'm scared to take vacay because these things always happen. So I chronically underutilize my vacation days.

my design has been done for months and the verif team finally gets around to trying the riskiest part one day before I'm scheduled to go on vacation. Ofc they find a bug and it's a tricky one. This is why months ago I said this part should get verified first. i'm disappointed but not surprised.

These games changed my life. When it was time for me to choose a major as an undergraduate, I thought back to these games. "Chip design seems fun and I already know that I can do it!"
