@nprofile…d0jr 🤣 Not sure I can be relax enough inside an elevator to draw like that!
A train station, yes, full of passenger stuck and with the "next info in 15minutes" left really a special moment in space/time. It's sort of easy to navigate with an access to the toilets and cheap food. Part of the comfort of waiting there for an undefined amount of time. Also, sunny and soft weather in Montpelier yesterday, it helped at staying positive and just sketch and enjoy.

@nprofile…fvmu It's true my Patreon is set to "per-episode" donations; and no P&C episode in 2.5 years... But I'm releasing one this month (started in June), so Patreon fits for now.
I tended to freelance when I had money issues over the last years, that's (mostly) why I accumulated so many delays. Later I'll switch my profile to monthly payments to support. I'll communicate about it everywhere so anyone can adapt their budget. It will help for sure.

@nprofile…w4zq For Pepper&Carrot I did this: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/wiki/index.html (see the 'View History' and 'Edit' button in the corner). The edit button redirect to the Gitlab editor, with just a button "Commit Change".
It's not really difficult while still intuitive enough. Sure, it require an account on the Gitlab instance, but if you don't, Gitlab will offer you to create an account after clicking the link. This way, I feel using git (Gitlab) and Markdown lower a lot the gatekeeping factor.

I am very happy to announce that I will be a guest at the @nprofile…fjn3 Festival 2025!
The festival will take place at the castle of Selles-sur-Cher (France) on June 6, 7 and 8. This year I'll have a permanent booth with chairs and tables dedicated to drawing. Surprising to see Youtuber PewDiePie (110M subscribers) publishing a video last night , "I installed Linux (so should you)" with a call to his community to join the platform, underlining the fun of customisation and DIY, in opposition to all the enshitification of Windows. His main point of friction for moving was Photoshop, and he explained how he made the effort to adapt GIMP to his needs. Always good to see initiatives like that shared to large audience.

@nprofile…yw62 Je crois en plus que c'est une mauvaise traduction. Je déteste aussi cette version ! J'ai entendu "Ce qui ne me terrasse pas me fortifie" comme traduction alternative. Ça me plait un peu plus, et encore que: que si on parle du mental et de la volonté et des petites épreuves du quotidien, car idem: c'est tout aussi éclaté dès qu'on l'utilise pour des abus, accidents, et maladies. Vraiment une croyance populaire teinté de pseudo citation philo à l'emporte pièce qui faut tordre le cou.

Je verrai bien la Wikipedia fondation dessus. Il me semble que leur trésorerie et leur moyen technique et leur familiarité avec le publique ferait que si ils entraient dans ce game, ça ferait un acteur de poids très rapidement.

@nprofile…pja6 Totalement! C'est même pour ça que dans ma métaphore, je voulais vraiment montrer que le petit renard reste un renard , tant bien même recouvert de cendre. Ca ressemble donc plutôt a une "community curated edition" de Firefox, mais je crois que c'est ce que je cherche là. Je commence à me méfier de Mozilla. Ils dérapent trop souvent ces derniers temps, et ça c'est que la partie publique...

@nprofile…zzfe Yes, changing web browser can be difficult. My first hours with LibreWolf was a real maze. :blob_sweat: I'm really lucky I could speak about my issue on the Pepper&Carrot matrix room and received assistance from a more experienced user.
I updated on their bug tracker the thread that I found with the information I needed, for future users in the same situation as me.

LibreWolf is just a layer of community reviewing in case Mozilla pushes something bad to their audience. My metaphor about the layer of ash on top of a fox works for this reason.
I also worry for the future of Firefox. I hope their executives will see larger community forming around forks, and it will make them find back their focus to privacy, and security. I'll be back to Firefox if they do that.

@nprofile…ye8z Thank you! It was wonderful to work with Green Sauce Games. "Tales of the orient" is probably the last game I illustrated before starting Pepper&Carrot. March 2014 https://www.davidrevoy.com/article222/video-game-tales-of-the-orient-green-sauce-games , 11 years ago! Probably a Krita 2.7 or 2.8 at that time. Green Sauce games were very ok with my open-source workflow, and also allowed me to show a couple of artworks on the blog post at release. Best type of client ever! ☺️

I did a four-page short comic for Le Lombard (Belgian publisher), it was a contribution to a big book project in French, featuring 24 other comic artists; an "advent calendar" book for Christmas. And yes, you have to cut the page every day in December to reveal a new story. I negotiated to have mine published on CC-By and made it using only FLOSS :linux: :krita: :inkscape: .
