The edit button redirect to the Gitlab editor, with just a button "Commit Change".
It's not really difficult while still intuitive enough. Sure, it require an account on the Gitlab instance, but if you don't, Gitlab will offer you to create an account after clicking the link. This way, I feel using git (Gitlab) and Markdown lower a lot the gatekeeping factor.
