Aha now I remember this game's curious balancing where all the bosses take like 8 hits to kill you but the random midboss enemies are murderers.
Nioh is still one of the best of the Soulslikes, and thus by extension FF:SOP as they are essentially 90% the same games, but they are far, far more demanding in combat mechanics than the average Souls, complete with Diablo style loot and multiple independent growth tracks that need constant tending to as you progress. It makes them great but also much more difficult to pick back up and play than any Souls game as both skilled play and growth demand a lot more brain space and are generally, due to the higher complexity, less intuitive.

You die in two hits and every single enemy takes two seconds of sustained fire to go down, half of them can just teleport to you without warning and get a free melee hit on you of the two you can take and probably both before you notice what's going on. Every enemy outranges you considerably because the damage dropoff is absolutely hateful. Around every corner is a Serious Sam wave of these fucking damage sponges and the damage dropoff is their way to try to get you to avoid being stuck in S+M1 forever like in SS. I'd love something that gave me some arcade session length shootan grind but this game is dogshit.

Alright, caught up with Lea. Just to write down my thoughts on the DLC so far to purge them from my mind:
Savanna Area: Obnoxious.
Big Gator: Fine boss.
Blue Woman (Erotic): A pretty good boss except her helm splitter attack has her leaping above the camera so you can never actually see her do it and her being able to slip attacks in between her puppet combos except for the one where they obviously tag team is obscene. Also why even give the puppet a health bar if killing it does NOTHING to make the fight easier?
Alchemist Dungeon: Grating
Veronique: Terrible. I fucking hate this boss and knowing that there's no bro-op call for this makes me dread repeating this DLC.
Two Faced: Perfectly fine boss.
Ruins/Mines: About here I was feeling alchemist fatigue. Lies of P worked by alternating stuff like church and slums and this has been a lot of alchemist bullshit.
Anguished: I will never use a bro-op call on any boss in the main game but from now on I will never fight this faggot without a bro-op call. I have nothing to prove for this busted nigger of a boss.
Lumacchio: Super good boss. Rejuvenated my zeal. If you held a gun to my head I'd say he was a little undertuned but I'd never say that within earshot of these deranged gooks.

@nprofile…mwp6 I think that would have messed with what they were going for. A real culprit would lie, and not all that convincingly since we are playing purely on fair evidence rules. Focusing on the mystery and making the mystery itself the character is what makes this game different than the Dangans and AAs. The final boss getting to do that makes sense because another trope this game wants to play with is the push and pull relationship of the mastermind so he has to have the special trick for the finale to make it personal.

@nprofile…mwp6 part of why I think Rain Code is Kodaka's finest is the final battle is dealing with the same question here. He approaches the question from every direction while staying perfectly true to the detective story rules and format.
I think Chapter 1 was better on paper than in practice. Solving four locked rooms SOUNDS neat until you just line them up and clear them one after another so bloodlessly. That and the tricks are all duh thats shaped like a ladder soooo...

Honestly an "extraction shooter" sounds like the sort of game I'd want to play because arcade length action with some meta progression sounds pretty nice but I don't like multiplayer

If you called me on the phone, gave me two takes, no direction, and no caffeine as I am just rolling out of bed, I could still give better voice work than the EN dub of Hundred Line. Every time I click a youtube video for the game, the EN dub is OFFENSIVELY bad. Not even slightly acceptable, just atrocious.

Technically my other favorite is the tomato retard as noble girls are super CUTE but she almost never takes off the mask so it's hard to get good F12s of her. The story also pits her against the protag a lot because she constantly accuses protag of being a deranged pervert who wants to do lewd things to Nozomi that make her uncomfortable and in her defense she would be dead on in that phrasing if you removed the words pervert and lewd but she's nice (and mean in a nice way) when you get past that misunderstanding
