That’s why I am reticent to apply, because I don’t wanted to wake up every morning and look myself in the mirror as a rejected applicant.
The other approach is to set up a page on the likes of https://geyser.fund and let the anonymous sats flow in. If no sats come in, so be it, but at least you don’t have to shake off that rejected applicant feeling.
Maybe something like the Michelin star system; it’s in total secret, the restaurants don’t apply or even know they are being reviewed, they just get the star and listing.

I just proved another cool concept with #nostr #safebox.
The idea is that the data is completely portable and can migrate to other relays. If the relay I am using becomes unreliable or hostile, I can simply replicate/migrate the data (the proofs and related data) to other relays and continue on from there. I just proved this with my latest code.
So now #safebox is acting like an organism - if the environment becomes hostile, it can pick up its data and continue elsewhere. Same with the code - it doesn’t actually matter where the code is being executed, so long as it has access to the nsec to access the data.
The implications here are pretty wild: an instance of a ‘wallet’ or ‘safebox’, as like to call it, does not need to e contained within a specific app/device, nor constrained to a specific relay - it can ‘move around’ using friendly code and relays - all that is needed is the nsec.
I honestly don’t know where else this is possible, except for #nostr.

To get rid of Reply Guy I had to remove several relays from my clients including my own test relay. So I guess the spammer targets relays that can't counter spam.

I like NIP-05 because it bootstraps trust from the legacy world (DNS URIs). I also like the badge nip because it enables npubs to vouch for each other. Agree it needs to be as open-ended as possible.

I might have an answer. I have set up a Lightning address service that accepts payment for <npub>@openbalance.app. The payment gets forwarded as cashu tokens which then can be accessed by the corresponding safebox with the nsec. The safebox can be created AFTER the bootstap payment.

Over the past few weeks I have proven to myself the possibility and feasibility of creating a 'wallet' that exists independently of an app, device, or platform. This will drive the regulators crazy because their strategy is to lean of the platform providers, who in turn, lean on the app providers.
The 'wallet' uses redundant relays and blinded mints, so there is no way to track or shut down at any point of control.
I am not doing this for nefarious purposes, just proving that it is

I love field testing. My favorite is airport wifi.
Successfully created a new #safebox, added funds, and zapped a randomly selected event (actually, @nprofile…pyug's latest post)
It all works.
The relay is somewhere in the US, the mint is in Singapore - working together to provide the services of a wallet that lives only in the #nostr network.
The only thing I need to access this wallet anywhere in the world is the nsec and a relay (or relays) that it might exist on.
This is truly unstoppable.
