No they do help a little, it’s just sugar and antimicrobial. But it’s basically the same thing as sprite so I tell people just use lemon lime soda instead of buying flower food packets

I’ve used hot water for hellebores and dahlias to hydrate them faster and it’s worked. It’s worth a shot. Also add an ounce or two of sprite or 7up in the vase of water to provide sugar and citric acid to kill bacteria.

That seems to happen because of bacteria clogging the stems from my knowledge. I would give the stems a fresh cut 1-2” before putting them in water and putting them in hot water. That has worked with other flowers so worth a try. But also, buy from a local grower/farmers market if you can and quality will usually be much better

It’s bittersweet because they sell as fast as we harvest and the longer we have them the better. But the short season makes us appreciate them more while they’re here. Most of our crops are seasonal so every time of year is special in its own way

Both true. They didn’t come across our radar until a few years ago. Really tough plants, and give the garden some colorful flowers when most plants aren’t yet growing. And aside from early flowers they’re fairly inconspicuous most of the rest of the year

Really cool of you to share your journey. I can empathize with the feelings. My career started at the farm, then had to leave it for another full time job to help pay the bills and save for a family/house. Still helping out on the farm when I can. I’ve saved in bitcoin for the past 7 years and will continue to do so in the future. I guess my goal is to put in the work to support the family, while letting bitcoin do its thing and one day allow me do more things I enjoy or do work that isn’t as financially rewarding but rewarding for the soul. all of the left wing accounts I follow on Instagram are in unison posting about abolishing ICE and how the government is lying to us. Seems a bit too suspicious to me to feel organic. We are being manipulated by this system to pick sides but the true path is leaving the corrupt system like Jeff Booth prescribes.
I do wonder though. Where were they during the lies of covid and government tyranny? Absolutely silent and in lockstep with their government masters, unquestioning the authority they agreed with, yet now opposing authority they disagree with. It’s hard to have sympathy for people who would have ratted on you for having a party during lockdowns. My two cents on today’s current events

Watching All Quiet on the Western Front. My main takeaway so far is war is obviously hell, and the German side I grew up thinking was evil was actually filled with normal people with sons and daughters and family they loved, but who were sadly conscripted by a despotic and evil government to kill other humans not unlike themselves. You’re not the only one. I work a blue collar job to pay the bills, enjoy a good pasta dish, veggies and fruits, and don’t have the income/time to travel to Miami, Tulum, or Ibiza. My fitness doesn’t always get the attention it deserves.
Maybe a lot of the bitcoin influencers were early adopters, who now don’t need to work and can focus their time on fitness, diet, leisure and travel? In any case, I like Odell’s advice, stay humble and stack sats. Perhaps when bitcoin reaches the heights it’s destined to, we also won’t have to work fiat jobs anymore and can get jacked and advertise peptides on our social media accounts for income (joking aside, I’m a fan of Robert Breedlove, his show taught me loads). Or maybe I’ll just do the same things I do now, live life modestly, and leave my family and the world with more than I was given. Bitcoin protects us from having our time and life sapped away by a small ruling class who want to act like God, it gives us our freedom, dignity, and time back. It’s up to each individual how they want to use that time. Do you what you love to do and let that add value to the world.
