It’s taken a while to put into words what I find so distasteful about AI in type design (even — especially — the ‘boring parts’). It’s not the threat of being put out of a job.

Available now: MD Thermochrome v0.4 adds 100+ new icons for UI design, wayfinding, weather and more.
This isn’t meant to be a complete set — instead, this update has been focused on setting up a workflow for adding new symbols efficiently. Suggestions are encouraged for future versions!

Maybe you’ve heard: every font is free! Since fonts aren’t subject to copyright, you can legally ‘pirate’ them if you use a specific loophole!
...except that’s not really true. I’ve seen this claim repeated quite a lot recently, and it’s missing some pretty important nuance.

New release! MD Thermochrome v0.1 is out now via @npub1t7k…3vwk
A typeface meant to evoke (though not imitate) fonts from dot-matrix and thermal printers, as well as the 1983 VT220 Terminal.
You know the drill: if you license it now ($18, one weight), you’ll get free updates as the design progresses
