That's okay, I think few are used to "global" algo ranked posts anyway. Maybe on Reddit or YouTube, but for example on yt I either view the subscription time based feed or the home "for me" feed. The global trending feed is never interesting but that may be just me.
Whatever feed should probably be personalized which means only running algo on one's wot. Problem, I think is that's either self-host, subscription, or always running resource intensive app for a couple hops. There's wot relays, algo relays, personal haven relays. Be nice to get it wrapped up in a bun.
X has probably proved though people are willing to pay for the experience if it's worth it.

First the configurations to buid your algo in-app, see what properties there are and what the algo may be doing. Then add the ai as an easy way to auto set those properties.
People may be lazy but they already have the most addictive algos. The big socials will no doubt add this ai feature too so they need a reason to come to nostr. Trust and transparency is the reason. Even though most won't use it I think they'll like knowing it's there.

There's a lot of relays for the "them" to tear down. Say they come close, the blastr's can be turned on.
They can't take down tor only relays. No doubt they've been aiming to take down Dread on tor for years.
Nostr's not under such an attack but the second there's a hint of fear, relays go tor only and onion urls are spread around.
Media links are the main point of failure we still have. Not sure why there's little attention in this regard.

Very nice! Primal was probably a good choice for simplicity however it may also reduce confusion if it included a warning that Primal doesn't connect directly to Nostr relays, a feature that can't be disabled in app and may cause then to see posts from relays they don't add, or miss posts from relays they did add.
Much of nostr benefit is customizing the experience through relay management so they'll learn it eventually but possibly after frustration.

Someone correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly The big incentives struggle causing corruption is often connected with gov departments using seizure to further fund their org (expensive police equipment or higher salaries for those employed). This funding came from government auctions and Bitcoin was auctioned off too.
This is a clearly a bad incentive I can see where people are seeing new toys and money with the more they seize. If Bitcoin is put towards debt as Trump plans for the SBR, I'm failing to trace who gains from that financially except America broadly.
I too would like to end incentives for victomless crime and the war on drugs. Is there an example you could provide on how this incentive will continue? I think everything seized so far could've been seized under the assumption it would've been auctioned off and increase the dept funding. But now it has a channel to go to debt instead possibly lowering the incentive to seize more.

I fear too much deflation is bad like inflation is so don't care much for burning. Also I see no reason the government should be trying to make current Bitcoin holders more rich, and agree or not, Americans voted Trump in on putting America first. No matter what there's a forced wealth transfer. Why do btc holders take priority? I can think of certain powerful people who'd love that as an incentive to seize more.
I agree on being cautious about incentives but tbh our leaders incentives have been towards increasing debt, and printing money. The answer I can think of is to legalize victimless crime that causes the seizures. That's a whole can of worms to talk about and could include returning btc to some unjustly seized, but wouldn't dissolve the reserve or compensate all
How exactly would they return btc to Silk Road? Many lost their btc there but what's their addresses and do the anonymous people still use those keys? SR doesn't exist.

- You'll never have to clean install to fix some weird thing you fucked up. All non default stuff is in your config.
- While it's another learning curve I argue it's a less steep learning curve than traditional linux if your syntactically minded.
- I've gotten my system closest to how I've always wanted with it including finally moving to Wayland with a working setup.
- Classically you'd install beginner friendly distribution or starter script when starting for sane defaults. In Nixos you fork a flake of someone who has similar tastes and go from there without learning everything their script messed with or all the possible configs the distro customized.
- Ever forget how you fixed some dumb issue even though you take notes on the issues you fix on new distros/machines but missed one? In Nixos with git repo you only s do something once per machine.
It has flaws for sure like documentation but I can't imagine going back still.

Well you should know that to be a carnivore you also need to understand the incentives docs and scientists have when releasing studies and training docs that result in incorrect information being mainstream. If you're not ready to challenge the impact those narratives have had, more research is needed before carnivore.
Carnivore is not recommend by mainstream who preach such metrics.

On Amethyst you have popular notes from npubs you don't follow which is 10 days per run. I don't see the same dvm available in Primal. The paid feed is the price of the feed, so to run the dvm. The notes will generally be available just not in the filter/order the feed provides

Amethyst for it's ability to set certain relays for certain things, built-in tor with fairly safe defaults using it for non-trusted relays, very wide note rendering support including pics, vids, emoji, lightning invoices, note deletions/edits and it's clean snappy UI.
Nostrudel for it's massive support of the most nips allowing it to be a one stop shop for everything nostr. Albeit a shitty UI.
Coracle for client side wot implementation.
Oxchat for the cleanest and most secure chat.
I'll throw in Primal and Yakihonne for search and simplicity even though they both rely on centralized services for that simplicity.

I'm not referring to BCH. I'm referring to the religious gatekeeping behind what was able to be talked about. Bitcoin has a social and research layer and I think both r/Bitcoin and r/BTC but also other controlled forums created a non-productive divide.
I know there's no big list of bitcoiners that "moved to the dark side". If anything most BCH supporters at the time have moved to loving Bitcoin but these self custody freedom for everyone conversations still happen. I won't speak for others but many likely think nostr helps in that regard and would have then as well.
A lot of BCH rederick was dumb but Ver spent much of his time helping merchants transact with customers without Fiat. Mostly a pretty standard libertarian trying to help.

Yeah, maybe the world will always be 100s of different currencies. I think there's many digital currencys better than fiat, but wish for something more simple for merchants and people buying or using apps.
I think of it this way. BTC a currency on a chain with the most trustlessness where you don't worry about value dropping because a newer/better currency was just released since the value aspect is good as it gets, but just doesn't scale. I think people just need trustless payment solutions.
Could maybe have a token for a sort of governance purpose/ mining incentive but I think the future is more fun for users when that's abstracted and they don't need to buy such token to use it.

The biggest issue is KAS.
I used to buy ether before nostr existed, LTC when merchants accepted it because it was more usable than BTC at the time, and AUDIO before Fountain, thinking they must have a token for governance or there won't be any.
Solutions just keep coming out that replace the need for these others which use their own token.
I still own some of these as I've been slowly getting rid of random shit I got bought getting excited about unique solutions. Not totally against tokens for every reason, but that's probably the biggest thing wrong with it
I'd love to see something more like liquid that is decentralized instead of "federated". If that happens, kaspa may become as obsolete as other solutions.

Not needing to trust ETFs is a huge reason Bitcoin exists and continues to grow.
If it's not self-custodial it's a bank account.
Lightning's just not there yet especially with small nodes. If that's layer 2, than most the world will interact with layer 3. Liquid is my new fav but still more centralized than some chains.
I think the world might not be prepared to find out just how expensive/slow Bitcoin will be one day. I'd rather use Bitcoin, but the gov will still fuck us all until merchants can accept it and our grandma's can spend it.
