I’ve been thinking a bit about this. I think the protocol and relay implementations lend themselves to horizontal scalability. Just a hunch but the db models I’ve seen are very simple so it’s likely easy to setup some very good replication with the DB tools we have at our fingers. I do kind of want to try it just for kicks.

A spec for lightning addresses that would would work with bolt12 is likely worth thinking about. I still think there’s value in short static payment identifiers. As it stands lightning address payment identifiers depend on lnurls.

#[4] I run a Hugo static site out of google cloud. The https://alanisoft.com/.well-known/lnurlp/cesar is just a static file. The callback returned by the page is a web server, albeit just a small Python program I wrote to wire it all up
