The conflict I’m having with “AI” is, that I wanted systems and robots to talk to since I was a little kid. C3PO, JARVIS, even Marvin. These are all examples of humble, helpful beings. Something I’d like strive for.
The people pushing the current wave are not at all value aligned AT ALL. They don’t care whether they are birthing skynet, as long as it makes them rich for their sad little existence on this planet. Their talk about regulation is nothing more than moat building.

I bet there are newer version then this one https://media.ccc.de/v/34c3-9250-the_making_of_a_chip but I liked the overview it gave.
Would be interesting to hear from someone that knows more about semi conductor chip design but I think you should be able to squeeze some performance out of an older, maybe like DUV, fabrication process with more modern architecture.

yea.. that part I find super fascinating, too. Recently overheard some devs saying “why doesn’t Apple/Google just produce their own chips”. People are really oblivious to the complexity of the tooling/processes

hmm… I guess one thing you could ask from signal is to check if all people in a group have a signal PIN, to ensure one can’t add new devices via sim swapping an existing user.
(Idk iff the pin is still optional. It was when I started using it)

I used Airalo a bunch when traveling. Might not be cheapest but the aggregation/hasslefree-ness made it worth it for me.

if it's only in german and not recorded, it's usually the operators directly. Then i'd expect it to be something urgent/immediate actually...gauging by the average english skills around here.. i'm not sure you would understand much :S

Hey fedifolks,
Can someone explain to me why I need separate accounts for lemmy and pixelfeed?
Choosing an instance once was already pretty hard for this and while I get the idea of different communities with different values, just getting a list of random strings/domains during onboarding is super opaque…
Like, so many questions… (how) can I browse their public feeds to make an informed decision? can I move/redirect accounts on these other apps, too or does it depend on the instance software?
