i had two large regular CFL bulbs with edison bases, like 150W equivalent. They lasted 12 years. the SOCKETS they were in, OUTSIDE, broke from sun bleaching before the bulbs burned out.
I have to replace LED bulbs INDOORS like once a year, minimum. it SUCKS.
LED power supplies need heat sinking, and most bulbs are installed base up or base sideways, both of which concentrate heat in the power supply.

short term, long term, working, or all three? My short term is *shot*, but my long term is better than nearly everyone i've known for 20-30 years.
I constantly am in a room wondering why i am in *that* room. I'm constantly forgetting to write down appointments, and i sometimes forget to shut off water when i am doing RO so it ends up leaking water all over my house.
For the things i can i've automated, and i've started intermittently taking gingko. Will add ginseng and ginger, too.

this happened to me last night and there was intermittent monsoon weather - like 15' visibility. I'm in an AWD with cameras that can lane keep, so i'm sitting at 57 *the whole way* and this particular idiot would also fall way back, like a half mile, whenever the rain would pick up. I don't have a rear camera in the AWD, so i can't prove *this time*, but it'll happen in my car sometime, and it has a rear cam.
I really want to come up with a descriptive name for either type of driver

is there a name for people who don't use cruise control and can't maintain a proper speed, except for when the person behind them is legally allowed to pass?
there's a possible converse, where you are in front and you have a tailgater, but they fall behind on curves, only to "catch up" and ride your ass until the next curve? Like, listen here, Scooter, you're obviously not in as big a hurry as you're acting, so simmer the fuck down...

i noticed the memory leak in that suddenly the last part before mp3-ify was slow, but i've experienced this with *good* ML software. it just starts shuttling to the main RAM. Luckily i think all of the "stuff" needed to continue the workflow (as the intention is to collaborate with the AI rather than 1-shot it) is in the .json and the mp3 output.
Where and how do i use miromind ? is it micromind?
does it work with ace-step?

i still can't figure out what happened, but the driver had an out of body experience twice. They got thrown from pretty high up onto pavement, and then it looks like they proceeded to then lose a fight face to face with a horse.
Right before they rotated away from the camera, they looked calm, trying to act cool.

i'd probably just make those, because the wire and the sleeve are similar sizes - small - and that's easy to solder. "instrument" cables are like speaker wire or 10A extension cord, harder to solder correctly, harder to strain relieve.
Does Amphenol make 3.5mm or 1/4" plugs? I should check

how old of games? you can get a *dvd* of windows pe bart or whatever, i can see if i have it on my shed storage. You need the GPU drivers. Windows updates and whatever should all be slipstreamed in the windows boot/installer DVD.
I can't really remember 256MB, is that ~2005? XP should work fine! Put the fastest drive you can, in it. If there's only IDE (no sata) then get a compact flash to IDE converter and buy some compact flash to boot from, at least.

what's the baseline button press latency, in like the OS menu?
I am still unsure if i understand; button press like "B" and then >60ms later the sound that the button press makes happen in the software/game? and >100ms in your original post? And the audacity screenshot was from a mic near the device, where you could pick up the button press and the speakers?
What's the button latency baseline? Usually it's done with a camera in slow-mo, but i like your mic version

that.. looks... normal? firefox does a lot of stuff on your behalf, and explicitly saying so seems alright.
what's the alternative? I use brave too but that's got the same problem, developing a browser is really expensive if you want it to be used by real people instead of nerds.

I copy and paste back and forth but models aren't good at "changing the subject" so they just repeat the same things then get annoyed at eachother for repeating the same things.
the closest cohesive "talking to eachother" is Mixture of Experts (MoE models). Also the newest trick i've used is to load a small model and a large model, then let the small model do all the generation. large model checks the work and corrects it. it's about a 35% speedup.

what interface are you using, llama.cpp? Deepseek can be prodded to think for a fairly long time.
I have a few questions about the filament. was it on a spool? made of what? had it been touched/used, stuff moved around it recently? Air blowing on it from a fan, window? What type, PLA, abs, PETG, ULTEM (hehe)...
does other weird things happen? do you get zapped a lot when you get up or touch things, other living things?

I was going through some of the old music i wrote and i got a little sad - i don't have "real" speakers in my house anymore - no driver is larger than like 3"
anyhow my car has 5.1 surround so we just listened in there. Including one of my favorite demo tracks: Ryan's Car, written for Ryan's Car, with it's street competition single sub 5 channel madness, over 1200W!

toast 1 slice of bread, and put it between the nutella layers (on whichever side bananas you want). Remove 1 layer of nutella - it's mostly not good for you oil and sugar anyhow (you mentioned nutrition being a goal). It makes it thicker, gives it a crunch, and you get an extra 100 calories that aren't as empty as the 100 you subbed out of nutella.

Just a "for instance" my 7300 will do a 3 second station ID if it has to autotune for more than a couple seconds - because tuning is a deadkey. that's why old timers whistle and say "haaaaaaaaaloooooo. hellohello heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy loooooooowwwwwww" when they're tuning up. *technically* it's amplitude modulation. Otherwise it wouldn't be CW it'd be just continuous wave transmission (designation N0N (zero)).

the main problem, most ISPs don't want you to bring-your-own router, and very few have the ability to set a DNS server other than the ones they provide, for DHCP clients.
If this doesn't make sense, that's ok. So the device essentially has to MitM your entire network. That's Man in The Middle.
ISP router -> wifi off, everything except firewall/adblock box d/con -> firewall box -> switch -> lan clients, WAP, etc
This is the *only* foolproof way to do this, imo

I have a mental model of the device for home or SOHO boolean or SMB use.
My case design from 22 years ago had a few different colors of dim LEDs (pwm controlled because they're all too bright, still, even), and acrylic looking "paint" on the surface making it look like a brick painted with a campfire or other visual fire wall metaphor. I had a price point but i don't remember it.
I don't know i'd do pi at all, they always have stock issues and supplier issues.
ARM is fine. RISCV?

for ref, tried all of these "distros" - some of them like pfsense (old) didn't support ipv6, the new pfsense didn't ever "get licensed" to "complete installation" due to a quirk of my environment that i could fix but won't because pfsense used to *just work* without phoning home, thanks *very* much.
i got ipv4 masquerading working fine on all of these. I am v4 CGNAT, and v6 public routable if i bring my own gateway.
none of these handled PD out of the box. None had clear docs on how 2, even.

Maybe it's better but for some reason i always felt like kde was insulting me and i'm not sure why. It is the most cheerful wm/dm though, gnome just functions and stays out of your way (to its detriment sometimes) and that's all i've used in over a decade. dunno if flux, etc still exist, but they're even more "functional" than gnome and are arcane to use.

i have one of those shake flashlights and it's real dim but it does work, this is a similar principle. The light is probably white, so it might be a decent brightness. There may be a joule thief inside, but most likely a diode and a capacitor and a resistor only.
Do they still make the generators that can touch the tire to spin? that might be a fun project

I just remembered a time we went to Del Taco at 3:30 AM with a few friends that usually worked graveyard shift and ordered $40 worth of food. It took them 25 minutes to bring it out to us and 4 of us couldn't eat it all. I had *leftovers* for a couple of days off that one purchase.
Times were wild, friends. $40 now would be 6 tacos, 3 drinks, and a chicken quesadilla.
Fast food got a foothold by being cheap, now it's a *net* drain on society in all respects.

HGN HGTV or whatever it's called probably has a lot of cultural blame for this sort of stuff. I know a couple of people who's houses are in a constant state of partial remodel. And those stations are funded by advertisements by appliance manufacturers (and pharma but i don't know the correlation there).

what AI stuff? odroid used to have tiny NUC-ish SBC with sodimm slots (H2 is the one i have, but it's CPU is olllllllld) - a lot of AI stuff just runs slow on CPU if you have enough ram. for speed good luck with something tiny, anything that has enough ram to feel snappy on the GPU is gunna be bulky.

ohhhhh all of my ISP's DNS servers are broken, both the 172. whatevers for ipv4 and the IPv6 ones as well. I switched *all* dns on this device to cloudflare and google (all 1 and all 8 ipv4 and the regular ipv6 ones) and now it's workin again. I still can't ping random linux boxes on my network reliably but google says "you're all set"

you usin mongo or postgres or what?
how big is the dataset? if it fits in ram grep is only 10x slower than mongo (on the order of 0.03ms per query vs 0.003ms per query), and by "grep" i mean silversurfer-ag or whatever it's called. ripgrep might be faster on some datasets but i've never seen it.

so in the last 3 weeks i've gotten sick twice. first time was some intestinal thing my kid caught (at a gym class in the evening, yay). Then this past sunday i get the weirdest disease i've had in a while.
8/10 lower torso pain. Hips, coccyx, leg joints, intestines, stomach. fever 102-103F for 2 days - i relented, finally because shivering while half your body can barely move from spasm-like pain *blows*, y'all.
No nausea. No other symptoms, at least none that i could track.
wtf?

If you have the data can you do like a `grep -i " 1908 " |wc -l` (or however you'd count occurrences)
I don't have an actuarial table in front of me but it should be theoretically possible for people with 1908 birth dates (assuming correct - as written on whatever gov form; records were loosy-goosy in that era)

magical shrinking weight of cat food bags.
we transfer the large bag into a container with a lid (maybe 3 or 4 gallons?) and the bags we buy for like $24 or whatever would overfill that bucket - until 2 years ago, when it started barely fitting after giving the cats a handful or two.
I just poured the same bag into the bucket and it was 2" from the top, that means there's a pretty significant reduction in the net weight.
Is everyone else just, you know, dumb?
